00:00In every farm that produces rice in Benguet, they aspire to have abundant rice for their children's education.
00:13That's why under the Kapuso School Development Project of the GMA Kapuso Foundation,
00:18we established three new and resilient seed areas there.
00:25One of the main problems of the residents is the supply of water in the seed area in Mangkayan, Benguet.
00:33Because of the high location of the area, the water does not reach them.
00:39That's why at 6 in the morning, the Grade 5 student, Albie,
00:44walks 200 meters to the right path to get water for his school entrance.
00:58It's hard to walk, but I can do it because I want to go to school.
01:09Benguet is one of the provinces that has been severely affected by the earthquake last year.
01:15That's why when the construction of the Kapuso School in this area started in February,
01:21Pablo was free to use his water pump to supply water to the school.
01:29The supply of water is very limited, so we were helped by a community volunteer.
01:37And after almost three months, the GMA Kapuso Foundation successfully built
01:45the three Kapuso classrooms with a hand and foot washing facility in Dagadag Elementary School.
01:54Thank you very much for the cooperation of our sponsors, partners, volunteers, and donors.
02:02Included are those who helped us build the Mike Enriquez Legacy Fund.
02:09The family of Mike Enriquez called on those who were mourning for Mike
02:15to donate to the GMA Kapuso Foundation instead of giving flowers.
02:21The proceeds are included in the fund that we used to build this school.
02:27There is nothing to be thankful for.
02:29We are really thankful because GMA Kapuso is considering the last mile schools.
02:35Those who are not noticed, are noticed by GMA Kapuso.
02:39Thank you, GMA Kapuso!
02:44The family is like a shield around the house,
02:48so the hard work and sacrifice of the fathers who take care of the family cannot be forgiven.
02:56That's why before the Father's Day on Sundays, GMA Kapuso Foundation has an early gift.
03:06A farmer in Balay is unfortunate because there is no rice to feed his family.
03:15Just like Sonny Muey, in order to feed his family, he has to borrow rice from Sonny's Sonny Store.
03:23He was hoping to earn 1,000 pesos per sack of rice.
03:29But because of the recent earthquake, his crops died.
03:34We can no longer buy rice.
03:37It dies because of the heat.
03:40Just like our crops, we can no longer survive because there is no water.
03:47Even though his body is aching, he is still able to support his children's studies.
03:55Now that Father's Day is coming, and as a reminder of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month,
04:02GMA Kapuso Foundation has set up in Bais, Negros Oriental,
04:07to conduct a free prostate antigen test, digital rectal examination, and urinalysis
04:15for more than 100 fathers.
04:17The test that we conduct mainly for physical examination,
04:22we first look at the prostate, if it is full.
04:25We see the prostate, if there is a bump or if there is a problem.
04:30Though PSA is prostate-specific, it is not cancer-specific.
04:34So it increases if there is a UTI tire, if our prostate is large.
04:40We also gave food packs, hygiene kits, clothes, and pants.
04:45This is going to be a first in the drive of the urologist or the Philippine Urological Association
04:53to extend their services into the mountainous regions.
04:56A greeting of a happy Father's Day.
05:02In the eruption of the volcano Canlaon,
05:04the Mt. Canlaon Natural Park and the livelihood of many of our residents were affected.
05:11That is why GMA Kapuso Foundation was able to meet their needs.
05:20They received many views and shares of the post of the eruption of the volcano Canlaon on June 3.
05:28We were able to get a video and image of Marian in Canlaon City.
05:34We were talking while having coffee.
05:37We did not expect that the volcano had erupted.
05:40We were all standing on the spot.
05:44I was videotaping.
05:45Many of Marian's fellowmen were affected,
05:49including Mt. Canlaon Natural Park in La Carlota City in Negros Occidental,
05:55where Ruchel has been a tourist guide for four decades.
06:00Tourist guides used to visit and earn money while the volcano was closed.
06:07It is painful for us because of our livelihood.
06:12It is like we are no longer alive.
06:16He used to earn P500 up to P1,000 a day.
06:22Now, he is an old man.
06:24The volcano has not erupted yet.
06:26There are many tourists here.
06:28But right now, we suffer because Mt. Canlaon is temporarily closed.
06:33Operation Bayanihan of the GMA Kapuso Foundation was carried out immediately.
06:38The 79th and 62nd Infantry Battalions of the Philippine Army were stationed in two barangays of La Carlota City.
06:47The assistance provided by the GMA Kapuso Foundation is a great help for the daily needs of our families.
06:59Thank you very much to everyone who helped in the evacuation of Mt. Canlaon.
07:08Thank you very much, GMA Kapuso Foundation.
07:13For those who want to ask for help, you can deposit in our bank accounts or send to Cebuano Loliere.
07:21It can also be done online via GCash, Shopee, Lazada, and Metro Bank Credit Cards.
