00:00I'm Carolyn, this is Kevin. This is our garden at 21 Stephenson, New Road, Ludlow.
00:05We're the secret gardens of Ludlow. We've been here over 40 years. This is our 12th or maybe 13th
00:13year of opening for the NGS. We opened for the NGS because the Macmillan nurses helped my dad
00:19when he had cancer before he passed away and we felt like we wanted to give something back.
00:25So this is why we do this and we thoroughly enjoy doing it. We do teas, coffees and everybody is
00:33welcome. We're in it every day. It doesn't take a lot. Kevin's retired, I'm due to retire and
00:43we're in here every day. It's never a day when we're not. When we're not in here and we come
00:48back it's like a jungle. You think I miss that bit. We just enjoy it. I enjoy gardening.
00:55Yeah we thoroughly enjoy it. It's nice to see people. My granddad was a gardener.
01:01He was 92 when he died and it was really hard when he was gardening because
01:11my dad was a gardener. So it's only me that has come into gardening. Well my brother's just
01:17started now. But it's just nice to have people's opinion on everything because they don't realise
01:24what's behind these cottages. They don't realise what's here and they think oh it's just a small
01:29garden and then when they come up the path and you open the gate they go oh wow. Well we've got
01:37well we've got all sorts of diverse things in the garden. We've got a tropical garden,
01:42we've got a Mediterranean garden, we've got chickens, we've got tunnels, we've got greenhouses.
01:51There's a lot to see so when people do come they're here for a while.
