00:08who will enter their territory in the West Philippine Sea,

00:12their fishermen in Infanta, Pangasinan are afraid to go abroad.

00:16Especially this past Sunday, a group of fishermen saw a Chinese vessel.

00:21It was 20 nautical miles away from the coastline of Infanta, Pangasinan.

00:26They left quickly.

00:28We didn't get too close because we were afraid.

00:32We were afraid because they were already here in the Philippines.

00:35The group of fishermen will consult with the authorities

00:39to confirm if the Chinese vessel is the one they saw or not.

00:43It's a bad omen for us because it's so close.

00:46We are also afraid that it will go abroad.

00:49The local government has not yet received a formal report.

00:54But the LGU will consult with them, especially the fishermen who are the main livelihood of the residents.

00:59What we will do there is to report to the higher agency of our government.

01:06There are more than 2,000 fishermen in Infanta, Pangasinan.

01:11They are all still sailing, but they can no longer reach Scarborough Shoal or Bajo de Masinlok.

01:18They are only able to reach up to 100 nautical miles for their safety.

01:23In December, the last time some fishermen sailed to Scarborough Shoal

01:28was here in Barangay Kato, Infanta, Pangasinan.

01:31But now, they are not sailing to Scarborough Shoal

01:34because of the Chinese Coast Guard.

01:37They can't go there because China is blocking them.

01:42If there are fishermen in Infanta, Pangasinan in the government,

01:47this is the place where they can monitor where they are fishing to protect their livelihood.
