00:00In terms of major tournaments, we always tend to see players break through and sometimes
00:07earn themselves big transfers, whether they go well or poorly. Obviously, Amrabat at the
00:13World Cup, maybe that's an example of one that went poorly. James Rodriguez to Real
00:18Madrid after that World Cup, that was a fantastic deal for him after his tournament. Who can
00:23you see in any young players, any players that might not be known that could actually
00:27break through and earn themselves a big deal come the end of this Euro 2024?
00:33There's a few that are knocking about that are very exciting. There's one that I've been
00:37keeping a bit of an eye on at Croatia, is Martin Batarina. A little bit biased because
00:42I've signed him on Football Manager a couple of times, but he's one of those players that's
00:46not known because he's in a lesser league. He's in the Croatian league still, 21 years
00:50of age, an attacking midfielder, but he's so dynamic in attacks and he's one of those
00:54that can be unlocked by the likes of Luka Modric shitting in deep and giving him freedom
00:58to roam. He's a very creative player. He's great on the ball. He's a very good finisher
01:03as well. I think he's someone who could break through for Croatia. They've got a tricky
01:06group Croatia, but in lots of predictions that people have been doing, I don't know
01:10if you've done the Telegraph predictor just yet, but he quite often puts Croatia up against
01:15England or against France. Maybe Batarina could cause some problems. He's going to be
01:19having a lot of attention on him. I think he's a very exciting player and an honorary
01:22mention as well to Warren's Emery for France. The Paris Saint-Germain player has been breaking
01:29through there. He's a name a lot of people know about, but I don't think we've seen him
01:32on the international stage too much just yet. France, of course, being one of the favourites
01:35of the tournament. How key could he be? He's an incredible midfielder and I think he's
01:40a player who's very well-rounded, bound to get a big move at some point from PSG. I think
01:45he's a very exciting young player.
01:46Yeah, there's a couple who've already been linked to big moves. I think Belgium's Johan
01:52Bakayoko, who has a great season for PSV Eindhoven, helped them win the league in Holland. There
01:58have been some clubs who have been heavily linked to him. Liverpool being one of them,
02:03a potential Mo Salah, just as he may be a successor in the future. He hasn't been following
02:10us, but quite close to a deal last summer by what reports suggest. And another one from
02:15Ukraine, I think it's Georgy Sutikov, who has had a really good season for Shakhtar
02:21Donetsk. Ten goals and six assists, something like that, in 34 games. Scores against Barcelona
02:26in the Champions League. He plays every minute of their group stage campaign. Obviously,
02:31Shakhtar are the dominant force in Ukraine and won the league. So it won't be a massive
02:36surprise. But Chelsea have been linked with him.
02:40But the one I'm really looking forward to seeing is Lamine Yamal. I think he's the youngest
02:45player actually at the Euros, 16 still, but playing regularly for Barcelona. I mean, genuinely
02:50being compared to Lionel Messi, which doesn't get much higher praise than that. So I think
02:53that's the big star that I'm looking forward to seeing, but quite a few that I think could
02:57make a mark at the Euros.
