00:31It's Emmitt Brennan in the green and red trunks.
00:36Devon Lee in the blue and white.
00:38Eddie Claudio is the third man in the ring.
00:42Nice right hand there by Devon Lee.
00:44This is an interesting matchup.
00:47Brennan, third pro fight, fighting a guy with 21 pro fights,
00:50and Lee is no slouch.
00:53Brennan, a 2020 Olympian, getting fast-tracked in the pros.
00:58If he gets the win tonight, he's certainly going to earn it,
01:01as Devon Lee has been in the ring over 20 times,
01:05has fought a lot of big prospects along the way,
01:09has fought some names that boxing fans would know as well.
01:14And Devon looks fit.
01:16He looks like he's in good shape tonight,
01:18more so than I've even seen him in the past.
01:21That is some good shots.
01:22Right hand over the top, a left hook right there.
01:24That's a little body shot on the inside as well from Lee.
01:27Brennan is a 2020 Olympian, only has two pro fights,
01:30but is 32 years old.
01:32Got a little bit of a late start to his amateur career.
01:35And it's interesting to point out,
01:37that he also does have close to 100 amateur fights, I believe.
01:41But Chris, I want to ask you, how much of an impact does it make?
01:45This is his first time fighting outside of the UK, outside of Europe.
01:49How much of an impact does that usually have on a fighter?
01:52It depends a lot with the individual.
01:54I mean, there's always the travel, the time difference.
01:56That's always going to affect you.
01:57Different foods, the travel can affect your weight loss or making weight.
02:02With a lot of amateur experience the way that he has,
02:04I'm sure he's traveled quite a bit.
02:06But still, very early in his pro career.
02:08And 100 amateur fights isn't that many for a guy with a big amateur background.
02:13You know, there are guys that have 200, 300 oftentimes coming from Europe.
02:19Nice uppercut from Lee there.

02:23Yeah, Lee has landed some really nice shots.
02:25There's actually a little swelling in the right eye from Brennan early on.
02:32It's Lee who's bouncing around on the balls of his feet.
02:36A little more flat-footed and pressing forward.
02:40I think he's also seeing some different looks from Lee that he hasn't seen yet.
02:43Especially in the pro ranks when you get those small gloves on, no headgear.

04:21I'm sure Emmitt Brennan could have found a guy, a walkover.
04:25It could have been matched up easily.
04:29But he chose Devon Lee.
04:32Which is respectable.
04:34I mean I guess coming from a pedigree, being the age that he is,
04:38from an amateur pedigree that he's coming from,
04:40I guess he does want to challenge himself early on.
04:42He's going to serve you well in your career if you want to move forward.
04:45Also fighting an eight-rounder.
04:46In his third pro fight.
04:48That's another big risk there.
04:50But I believe his last two fights too, Chris,
04:52have been either six and eight.
04:54Yeah, they're definitely starting them out fast.
04:56Now you see those Olympic rings on the inside of his left arm.
05:02I think that's like a prerequisite.
05:04If you are in the Olympics, you have to get that tattoo.
05:06Especially if you're a boxer.
05:08It's got to be visible.
05:10It's Lee who's now talking to Brennan.

05:18He's thrown that a couple of times too in the first round.
05:20That was the best one that landed thus far.

06:02That experience, I talked about that.
06:04That's that intangible.
06:06I really like that jab that he landed to the body.
06:09I've been in the gym with Lee for a year.
06:11It's been a long time.
06:13He's one of those guys.
06:15He has fun when he gets working.
06:17When he finds his flow, he'll let you know about it.
06:19He gets that flow state.
06:21He's definitely not intimidated by the Irishman tonight.
06:26He's willing to stand and trade and really stand in range.
06:29Which leads you to believe that he's not really that impressed with Brennan's power.
06:37Brennan from our vantage does look to be the bigger man of the two.
06:41I wouldn't say that the power looks to be anything that daunting.
06:46Nothing that Devon Lee hasn't seen.
06:54Nice body shot on the inside from Brennan.
06:57This round he's been putting some shots down low.
07:00I think that's a good idea.
07:02An eight round fight against an experienced guy.
07:03If anything, Devon Lee's going to give you rounds.
07:07His last fight went the distance.

07:11If you take a look at his box rack, it's all decisions.
07:15He's definitely no pushover.
07:18Also with Devon Lee, he's trying to win.
07:20He's not just a survivor in all those fights.
07:23A win over an Olympian like this would be great for Devon Lee.
07:26That was a good left hook from Devon Lee.
07:28Caught Brennan as he pulled out straight back.

07:34Better round for Brennan, but he got caught there at the end with a left hook.
07:40I would definitely give that round though to Brennan.
07:42I feel like those right hands earlier in the round were definitely landing easily.

07:49Take a look at the action there from round two.
07:51Henry, it looks like Brennan got his legs a little bit under him
07:54and was able to fire off a few combinations.
07:58But it's not to say that Devon Lee did not have some good moments in there as well.
08:03The only difference between this round and the first round is that
08:05Brennan actually got off in combination.
08:07First round was a lot of one shots, missing some shots.
08:09He wasn't really comfortable finding his feet.
08:11That last round, round two, he was able to let some combination go
08:14as you saw from the replays.
08:17And it's going to be more interesting to see
08:19the deeper we go in the water,
08:21how much of that composure is Brennan going to be able to carry in.
08:24It's one thing being in deep water
08:26with guys that he's fought in the past
08:28who are probably not as challenging.
08:30And it's another thing when you're in deep water
08:32with a guy like Devon Lee.
08:34Round three was scheduled for eight
08:36in the lightweight, light heavyweight division.
08:39It's Emmitt Brennan in the dark green and gold.
08:44And he's going to be in the deep water.

09:33That was a beautiful one, too, there with that.

09:36Yeah, Devont Lee came out in this round
09:37with a whole different mindset.
09:38He met Brandon right in the middle of the ring.
09:41He's standing his ground more this round,
09:42trying to trade, trying to assert himself,
09:44show himself that, show Brandon
09:45that he is the more experienced man.
09:48Beautiful body work right there by Devont Lee.
09:52Brandon, man, he's physically strong.
09:53He may not have big knockout power,
09:55but he's definitely a physically strong guy.
09:57He was able to back Devont Lee up
09:58just with his physicality.

10:02Lee is starting to land some shots there,
10:03and a little bit of a mouse starting to develop
10:05underneath the right eye of Emmett.

10:43I think Brandon's a little bit physically stronger,
10:45but Devont is craftier.
10:49He's able to find those holes.
10:51Which is interesting,
10:52because you would think that the Olympian
10:53would be the craftier fighter.
10:55Yeah, this is the pros, baby.
10:57It's a whole different world.
11:00Devont fires off a four-punch combination.
11:02And then spins off,
11:03tries to get back to the center of the ring.
11:06Nice little inside body shot there, too.
11:07Those little shots, man, a lot of times from the outside,
11:09people are like, oh, that was nothing.
11:10Oh, no, no, you feel those.
11:12Especially if you catch a guy breathing in.
11:14They all start to accumulate.
11:17Next thing you know, you got welts on your ribs.
11:20You got a mouse under your eye.
11:23Emmitt Brennan becomes that with a victory.
11:25He's going to earn this one.
11:27As Devont Lee is not just looking for a paycheck tonight,
11:31he's looking to win.
11:33Watch out for the overhand right from Devont Lee.
11:36Setting it up nicely with those stab jabs.
11:39You can see the determination in Devont Lee's face,
11:42like he is not going to back up here.

22:11And maybe you're seeing, you know, all those mileage,
22:15all those miles, I should say,
22:16of Devon Lee starting to show a little bit.

22:19I'm seeing all that body work from Brennan early on.
22:21That too.
22:21He has been tricky with his shots on the inside.
22:23Devon hasn't shown that they were affecting him,
22:25but maybe this could be the effect of that.

22:31Gotta give credit to Brennan.

22:42He was able to just literally walk Devon Lee to the rope.

22:49but just using his size to push Devon Lee back.

23:06and that's been one of the best weapons he's had all night.

24:36They're very dangerous.

24:46I have it pretty even.

24:51Listen, regardless of who ends up coming
24:53in the victory to this fight,
24:54this is great experience for someone like Emmitt Brennan.
24:57Absolutely, I mean, come on.

25:02Fighting Devon Lee is like fighting 10 bouts,
25:0610 four-rounders.
25:07You remember a guy named Derrick Finley?
25:08Yeah.
25:09He was the guy that was always
25:11on the Broadway boxing circuit.
25:13Another guy, he was like a guy that would always give
25:16young fighters a round.
25:17Went the distance to everybody, knocked off some guys.
25:19Yeah.
25:21I remember coming to a Broadway boxing
25:23and he had a giant hematoma on his head.
25:25Yeah, that's right, that's right.
25:27That was a wild night.
25:28But he could punch too,
25:29like he would knock guys out every once in a while.
25:31That was a very dangerous guy to fight.
25:33Not saying him and Devon Lee fight the same style,
25:35but they're the same type of fighter
25:37that are gonna get in that ring, look to win,
25:39but also look to take out a young prospect.
25:42Same category of fighter at this point.
25:44So important to the sport of boxing.

25:57If I'm Brennan here, I'm putting on the heat.
26:00I know he's having some trouble breathing.
26:01You see him folding around with his mouthpiece in there
26:03because I think that nosebleed, like you mentioned, Henry,
26:06is giving him a problem,
26:07but he's gotta take advantage of that youthful exuberance.
26:10But he's landed some really good shots to Devon Lee
26:13and he hasn't seen the effects take on Devon Lee
26:16like he would like.
26:17Do you not think that it would be better
