00:00The first five months of this year of recording 638,000 passengers through our airport and
00:09we've continued breaking records above most airports in Australia where we're comfortably
00:15surpassed the pre-COVID numbers and records and all-time record for the airport as well.
00:23The other thing that I'd like to talk about today is the introduction by Qantas of the
00:31new A321 aircraft which will be replacing some older technology and less environmentally
00:39friendly, if you like, 737 aircraft that have been operating on the route for some years.
00:45We're also upgrading our airport facility to cater for more of these aircraft over the
00:51next 12 months with new freight apron and upgraded freight facilities for Qantas as well.
01:00Really the Launceston airport together with the broader northern business community
01:04need to take a deep bow. The results are incredible. Few would have believed that
01:10we would actually not just meet the pre-pandemic levels as we've seen interest rates go up and up
01:16in recent 12 months but actually they have now been exceeded. Last month in May we saw
01:22just short of 100,000 passengers through Launceston airport. That is an all-time record.
