00:00We're here with Nathan Kelly, CEO, and he's about to take us through a walkthrough of
00:09the Wentworth a few weeks before it opens.
00:12Okay, so it is a work in progress, but there are a few areas that are near completion.
00:26So, to a range of people, including families, this is our large kids' play area, which is
00:33soundproofed as well, which is an important feature.
00:39We will have a cafe facility to my left, which will contain hot and cold items, grab-and-go
00:47items, and immediately behind that is the main bar, where we'll have up to 20 different
00:55varieties of draft beer, which is exciting.
00:58We'll also have a function room available for the different sorts of events, ranging
01:04from conferencing to community groups to birthday parties, and this room will have North Face
01:11beer, which is very important for families.
01:42So this is our sports bar.
01:49We'll be showing live sport.
01:52We'll also have TAB facilities, which is great.
02:11So this is our main outdoor terrace.
02:21Great views up the first fairway.
02:25The main lake is down the 14th, 15th, and 18th fairways.
02:30You can also see our new practice tees, and also our new party room, which is over here to my left.
02:42So this is our new pro shop, which will be headed up by Todd Brackenbridge and his team.
02:49So it's a vast improvement over the mountable situation that is happening now.
02:54So these are our two practice golf simulators, worth $250,000 installed.
03:01They'll be available for hire and professional coaching.
03:11It's been a challenge in many ways, particularly when we first started.
03:23You might be aware of the rock that we encountered in the subsoil, and when we started the foundation
03:30of the building.
03:32Well, I mean, Wentworth is about the whole improvement of what we've got here.
03:38That's the golf course.
03:39We as a club have invested a lot of money in that, and that's evidenced now by the condition of the course.
03:45And the build, that's about golfers.
03:48Yes, it's a home for our golfers, but it's also the home for our community.
03:52It's a community-based club, so for this club to survive financially into the future,
03:57we've got to have it patronised, and that means just more members.
04:01It means visitors, invited guests, and others that can help us with our revenue stream
04:07to make sure that we continue to build on this wonderful complex we've got out here.
04:12Absolutely, and what can the community expect?
04:15Why should they come to the Wentworth once it finally is open?
04:18Well, I think Nathan can probably make some better judgments and statements from that,
04:23but we've got a wonderful team of managers, and certainly in regards to food and beverage,
04:28we've got skilled people from an industry and a business base that's grown from our main club
04:35in Anson Street, so we've got some professional people in all capacities.
04:40So that in itself should enhance the opportunity for people to come and enjoy what we have on offer.
