Fashion Queen Stella McCartney has admired the Prince of Wales’ tie at a climate event in Central London. The Prince was attending the Earthshot Prize Innovation Camp as part of London Climate Action Week. Prince William met with Michael Bloomberg, who acts as a Global Advisor to The Earthshot Prize Winners, and also spoke with actress Hannah Waddingham, praising her performance in The Fall Guy film, before receiving a recommendation from her to see Garfield. 01:19It's lovely, that's what I'm telling you
01:21Well that's what it is, it's damn lovely

01:29Don't give me ideas
01:31So, I'm just, it's lovely
01:33Anyway, let's go
01:35Hello, hello, good afternoon everybody
01:59Welcome, and welcome Your Royal Highness
02:01It's lovely to be with you all here
02:03I'm Jean Sompong
02:05And I'm Jennifer Zabasaja
02:07But first, it is our honor to introduce the founder of Bloomberg
02:09and Bloomberg Philanthropies
02:11Michael R. Bloomberg
02:23Well good afternoon everyone
02:25And Jen, thank you for that nice introduction
02:29And thank you all for being here
02:31And let me give a very big thank you
02:33to the person responsible
02:35for bringing us all together
02:37and is doing so much
02:39to support all of the inspiring and important work
02:41that you'll hear about
02:43The creator of the Earthshot Prize
02:45His Royal Highness
02:47The Prince of Wales
02:53Please join me in welcoming
02:55them all to the stage
03:01Thank you
03:07Hello, hello
03:09Well thank you very much
03:11Hannah Waddingham calling
03:13But there we are
03:17We are here
03:19in our beloved London
03:21where four years ago
03:23you founded the Earthshot Prize
03:25It started as a beautiful glimmer
03:27in your eye
03:29and has grown into, without doubt
03:31the world's most prestigious
03:33environmental prize
03:35Please
03:43So, when you sat alone
03:47wondering what you would do
03:49could you have ever imagined
03:51celebrating stories
03:53like the ones we've seen and heard here today
03:55I think
03:57it was a lonely place
03:59to start with
04:01I sat wondering for quite a while
04:03whether this was going to work
04:05and whether a prize
04:07was the right way of doing it
04:09But the more
04:11I thought about it, the more I chatted with
04:13my team at the time, we sort of picked it apart
04:15and thought about it
04:17The more I thought, hope
04:19optimism, urgency, action
04:21those are the kind of key buzzwords we needed
04:23to kind of put together
04:25and so a prize format came out of that
04:27and I think
04:29I actually have the easiest job really
04:31because you've heard the finalists
04:33and the nominees and the winners come up here
04:35and I'm just so proud of all of them
04:37for how they speak
04:39what they do
04:41They are the greatest showcase for the Earthshot Prize
04:43It's been an incredible journey
04:45getting to know them
04:47getting to understand what they need
04:49and I hope the prize
04:51encapsulates all the
04:53brilliant things that they bring
04:55to the party
04:57and I think I felt for a long time that the climate debate
04:59and the environmental debate was getting very
05:01negative, very
05:03doom and gloom
05:05and I wanted to inspire that hope and optimism
05:07that we could do stuff
05:09and I knew all these people existed
05:11I'd met them through the work I do
05:13and I thought what could I do to give them a better platform
05:15a spotlight
05:17and also make them household names
05:19She's like Queen of Africa
05:21She's amazing
05:23I love her, she's incredible
05:25I love that you're filming that
05:27We'll give you a round of applause
05:29and then you'll have it on the video
05:35Like I said
05:37they're out there
05:39and we just need to support them, back them
05:41collaborate with them and give them the resources
05:43and they'll do incredible things
05:45that will help all of us and future generations
05:47Well sir, you've certainly
05:49helped everyone in spades and I think you are being
05:51far too modest because I saw it
05:53first hand and I said it to you at the time
05:55you are not the poster boy
05:57as it were, you are very much
05:59in the engine room so
06:01everyone has you to thank, not just the people here
06:03but everyone
