Residents in Capel-le-Ferne, between Folkestone and Dover, are concerned about plans to build new homes
Transcript
00:00Well most of us along this road bought our houses because of the view. We will
00:06have 90 houses behind us many of which will look over our gardens and into our
00:11houses. It's not ideal. I think that the the planning department have missed the
00:18fact that there are several other developments being planned at the same
00:23time and they don't seem to be aware of all of them in total because then the
00:28number of cars that will add to this area. There's a great problem with
00:33drainage in this field behind me that it would make it very difficult and those
00:38houses will probably be prone to flooding. There's problems with water
00:42pressure up here so you can imagine all of that extra burden and then that's not
00:47allowing for the fact of the traffic as I say going out to the main road. There's
00:51great problems with accidents that happen at the entrances to this
00:57area. I think it's totally inappropriate to be honest. It's not within the keeping of the village. The roads around here, just the whole
01:05infrastructure and the whole of the village is not suitable for 90 odd houses behind
01:09there. So you're talking not just 90 houses over there you're talking 120
01:13houses in all. The access of the junction down there is not suitable.
01:20The infrastructure just isn't there. It's just not suitable at all.
