A blind grandmother was denied entry to a Morrisons Daily store with her guide dog, Dougie, because the owner claimed to be allergic.
Caroline Kennelly, 54, who has just 3% of her vision, was left distressed by the incident at the Canterbury branch on February 27.
Despite her right to access public spaces with an assistance dog under equality law, the store displayed signs banning dogs due to allergies.
Morrisons apologised for the incident, but the store manager insisted the ban on guide dogs would continue, offering instead to have a staff member do Ms Kennelly’s shopping for her.
