Tesla Defends Elon Musk's $56 Billion Pay Package Victory in Court Filing, Highlighting Shareholder Approval

Tesla argues in a court filing that Elon Musk won the legal battle over his $56 billion pay package because shareholders voted to reapprove the compensation after a Delaware judge voided the compensation plan earlier this year.  The judge invalidated the pay plan in January after finding that Musk's close relationships with some board members influenced negotiations and that Tesla failed to explain the plan's performance targets to shareholders adequately. The judge ordered both sides to prepare briefs on the impact of the shareholder vote and will hear oral arguments on resolving the legal fee amount.
