1. **Steven Seagal** - Known for his martial arts skills, Seagal's filmography is filled with straight-to-video action movies that often receive poor reviews.

2. **Tyler Perry** - Although he has a dedicated fan base and has achieved significant commercial success, many of Perry's films, particularly his Madea series, have been critically panned.

3. **Megan Fox** - After her breakout role in "Transformers," Fox has starred in several critically derided films such as "Jonah Hex" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

7. **Bruce Willis** - While Willis has iconic roles in films like "Die Hard," he has also appeared in numerous low-budget, critically panned action films in recent years.

8. **John Travolta** - Despite his talent and iconic roles, Travolta's career includes several flops such as "Battlefield Earth" and "Gotti."

9. **Eddie Murphy** - A comedy legend, Murphy's career includes classics like "Coming to America" but also critically derided films such as "The Adventures of Pluto Nash" and "Norbit."

00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most prominent actors
00:12whose filmographies are riddled with less than stellar entries, even though they may
00:15have appeared in a few good films.
00:24Number 20.
00:25Jamie Kennedy
00:26Yes, Jamie Kennedy was in the Scream movies, and we're not taking those classic horror
00:29movies away from him.
00:30However, one look at the rest of his filmography, and you'll find yourself doing a lot of
00:34screaming at how scarily bad it is.
00:36Perhaps the most glaring example is Son of the Mask.
00:47After Jim Carrey refused to make a sequel to The Mask, Kennedy was hired, resulting
00:51in this terrible Golden Raspberry nominated movie.
00:54This was Kennedy's shot at stardom, and it failed spectacularly.
00:57Since then, it's been one obscure, low-quality film after another.
01:01Have you seen Bending the Rules or Buddy Hutchins?
01:10If you plan on doing so, to paraphrase the Good Mask movie, somebody should stop you.
01:15Number 19.
01:16Jennifer Love Hewitt
01:17You know what Jennifer Love Hewitt did last summer?
01:25She made a bad movie.
01:26Okay, so maybe it wasn't literally last summer, but throughout Hewitt's lengthy
01:30career, if she's appeared in a movie, you can almost guarantee that it's a bad one.
01:34Scroll through her catalog on Rotten Tomatoes, and you'll notice something pretty amazing.
01:38Hewitt hasn't made one movie that scored above 54% among critics, excluding The Client
01:43List, which was made for TV.
01:45And it's not just the critics who aren't impressed.
01:52Only a handful of her films have received positive audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes,
01:56with Can't Hardly Wait being maybe the most divisive.
01:59Number 18.
02:00Jean-Claude Van Damme
02:01While most actors tend to make worse movies as their star power wanes, Jean-Claude Van
02:05Damme has actually delivered multiple commendable films in the 21st century.
02:09Perhaps the most notable of these is 2008's J.C.V.D.
02:19However, these few acclaimed works are completely overshadowed by the numerous mediocre movies
02:30the muscles from Brussels has made over his long career.
02:33Despite achieving box office success with titles like Universal Soldier and Time Cop,
02:37many of Van Damme's works have simply fallen short of greatness.
02:40If all it took to make a truly exceptional film was the ability to do the splits, then
02:44Van Damme might have the most impressive filmography ever.
02:56But clearly, it takes a little more than that.
02:58Number 17.
03:00Jessica Biel
03:01Unfortunately for Jessica Biel, her time on Seventh Heaven didn't garner her any goodwill
03:05from the movie gods.
03:13Since she departed the show, Biel's extensive resume has been marked by a lot more misses
03:18than hits.
03:19In an attempt to diversify her roles, she ventured into sci-fi and action, with films
03:23like Blade Trinity and Next to pretty unsuccessful results.
03:26She was even in that awful Total Recall remake in 2012.
03:29Biel has tried her hand at the rom-com thing as well, with turns in Valentine's Day and
03:33New Year's Eve.
03:39However, neither of those produced anything beyond the standard romantic comedy flair.
03:47Number 16.
03:48Gerard Butler
03:49Gerard Butler burst onto our radars with his star-making turn in Zack Snyder's 300.
04:02But even if we were to turn a blind eye to his earlier movies, the quality of his work
04:05since then has been just as bad, if not worse.
04:08We assume that with more fame comes a lot more choices.
04:11Unfortunately, some of the choices Butler has made have been questionable, to say the
04:15least.
04:16Gamer is an all-style, no-substance action movie, and the rom-coms The Ugly Truth and
04:21The Bounty Hunter possess neither believable romance nor clever comedy.
04:252011's take on Shakespeare's Coriolanus may stand out as a rare high point, but films
04:31like the Has Fallen franchise only regress him into mediocrity.
04:35Number 15.
04:36Jaden Smith
04:37As a full-fledged nepo-baby, Jaden Smith has enjoyed a lot more opportunities than many
04:41of his counterparts.
04:43However, as we've seen in his relatively small body of work, with said opportunities
04:51haven't come the best choices.
04:52Although Smith showed promise with his movie debut in The Pursuit of Happiness, the quality
04:56of his projects since then have taken a steep downturn.
04:59Both The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Karate Kid made money, but while the latter
05:02could be considered average, the former was disliked by both critics and audiences.
05:22Then in 2013, Smith reunited with his dad in After Earth, a movie so widely panned,
05:28the older Smith called it the most painful failure in his career.
05:31Number 14.
05:33While Katharine Heigl has had some negative things to say about Knocked Up, it still ranks
05:37as one of the top comedies of the 2000s, but while that film is a thumbs-up on her IMDb
05:52page, our thumbs turn mostly down for the rest of her credits.
05:56Following Knocked Up, Heigl had a rom-com run that stands out for how generally forgettable
06:00it was.
06:0127 Dresses has its fans, but there's very little good to say about The Ugly Truth, Life
06:06As We Know It, or New Year's Eve.
06:15The 2010s saw Heigl in a number of low-budget misses as well.
06:19Who remembers Home Sweet Hell and Unforgettable?
06:21Exactly.
06:22Number 13.
06:23Pauly Shore
06:24Pauly Shore's tenure as an MTV VJ from 1989 to 1994 propelled him to considerable fame,
06:30particularly among younger audiences.
06:32That fame led to the making of Encino Man, which, despite the critical panning, managed
06:36to turn a modest profit and developed a dedicated fanbase.
06:45This was good for Shore, but bad for 90s filmgoers, who were then inundated with a slew of Pauly
06:49Shore movies, from Son-in-Law to In the Army Now, Jury Duty, and Bio-Dome.
06:58It wasn't just the critics that hated these movies.
07:01The audience didn't show much love to Shore as the decade went on, either, as each movie
07:04earned lesser returns at the box office.
07:07Number 12.
07:08Jennifer Lopez
07:09Jennifer Lopez rose to fame as the titular singer in the well-received 1997 film, Selena.
07:20She quickly followed that up with the cult classic, Anaconda, and the great Steven Soderbergh
07:24film, Out of Sight.
07:26As the 90s came to a close, Lopez was a huge star, but with that stardom came a string
07:30of bad-to-mediocre rom-coms, from The Wedding Planner to The Backup Plan.
07:35And let's not forget her two big flops with Ben Affleck, Kevin Smith's disappointing
07:38Jersey Girl and the widely maligned Gigli.
07:49All of that just gets us to 2010.
07:51Since then, Lopez has appeared in movies like Second Act and Shotgun Wedding, whose
07:55mid-40s Rotten Tomatoes score should tell you all you need to know.
07:59Number 11.
08:00Nicolas Cage
08:01What happened to this career?
08:06Once an A-list actor making huge paychecks for high-profile roles, Nicolas Cage has since
08:11seemingly relegated himself to the realms of straight-to-DVD and video-on-demand.
08:15Well, as it turns out, financial mismanagement is to blame, bad real estate investments and
08:20tax-related issues resulted in serious money problems for the California native, who reportedly
08:25responded by taking on as many acting gigs as possible in order to dig himself out of
08:29the hole.
08:30The severity of his debt can be measured by the huge number of films he's starred in
08:33that you've probably never heard of, like The Runner, Pay the Ghost and Vengeance A
08:37Love Story.
08:47Number 10.
08:48Jessica Alba
08:50This California native first caught the attention of the masses as the star of Dark Angel, a
08:53James Cameron co-created TV series that actually earned Alba a Golden Globe nomination.
09:00Since then, she's become a household name and is widely considered one of the most beautiful
09:04women in Hollywood.
09:05Praise for her acting, however, has diminished.
09:08Many of her films have earned her Razzie nominations, including, but not limited to, Into the Blue,
09:13Fantastic Four, Good Luck Chuck, The Love Guru and Little Fockers.
09:22These days, she's more famous as a businesswoman than as an actress.
09:27Number 9.
09:28Jai Courtney
09:29When John McClane returned to the big screen with Live Free or Die Hard, critics and fans
09:32alike were pleasantly surprised by the strong outing.
09:35Then came the sequel, the critically reviled A Good Day to Die Hard, which introduced many
09:39to Jai Courtney in his first starring role.
09:53Suffice it to say, it wasn't a good start for the Spartacus alumnus.
09:56Though he followed it up with the well-received Australian flick, Felony, roles in I, Frankenstein
10:01and The Divergent Series tipped the scale in the wrong direction.
10:05Courtney then left his mark on yet another classic action franchise with the poorly-received
10:10Terminator Genisys, but the roles keep on coming.
10:13Number 8.
10:14Jennifer Aniston
10:15Jennifer Aniston's career will forever remain iconic for starring in one of the best sitcoms
10:19in TV history.
10:28She's even made some great film choices as well.
10:31Just look at the high-quality laugh-out-loud comedies Office Space and Horrible Bosses.
10:35However, to paraphrase Ross, for much of her film career, it seems like she was on a break
10:39from good movies.
10:40Bruce Almighty may have made a lot of money, but its mediocre reviews certainly didn't
10:44bode well for Aniston.
10:53She followed that up with Along Came Polly, Rumor Has It, and The Break-Up, which all
10:57have Rotten Tomatoes scores under 35%.
11:00As if to crown all of her lackluster efforts, Aniston ultimately earned a Golden Raspberry
11:05nomination for her turn in Just Go With It.
11:08Number 7.
11:09Taylor Lautner
11:10Heartthrob though he may be, Taylor Lautner has seemingly struggled to land that transformative
11:14role to help him reinvent himself as a leading man.
11:16And let's be honest, while they were financial juggernauts, the Twilight films weren't
11:20exactly critical successes.
11:25Since then, Lautner has donned the mask of action hero in Obduction and Tracers, both
11:30of which flopped, as well as the guise of funny man in The Ridiculous 6, which currently
11:34boasts 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.
11:36And sadly, his foray into indie drama, Run the Tithe, didn't land with critics either.
11:44Number 6.
11:45Ashton Kutcher
11:46Nothing hurts quite like giving it your all on a dramatic biopic, only to have someone
11:50tell the same story two years later, to significantly better reviews.
11:55Sadly, this was Ashton Kutcher's experience when he played tech visionary Steve Jobs in
12:03Before Michael Fassbender took a crack at the role.
12:06Since his days on That 70s Show, Kutcher has put out a steady stream of films that, although
12:10often financially successful, have consistently been duds at least as far as critics are concerned.
12:15Movies like New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, and What Happens in Vegas, we're looking
12:19at you.
12:22Number 5.
12:23Megan Fox
12:24What is there to say about Megan Fox that hasn't already been said?
12:27As a modern sex symbol, this actress has been typecast for her looks pretty much since day
12:32Though she's never been regarded as a particularly gifted actress, in all fairness, the films
12:36in which she's been cast haven't exactly given her much to work with.
12:43You can't help but respect the way she's embraced her place in the film industry, though.
12:47Since becoming a mother, she's publicly stated that she's a mom full-time and an actress
12:50part-time, treating acting as a source of income rather than her true passion, but confident
12:55in getting roles to support her kids.
13:04Number 4.
13:05Tyler Perry
13:06Hey, if you find a character that works at the box office, why not just keep churning
13:10out movies?
13:14Tyler Perry has proven himself to be a talented actor, writer, and filmmaker, with a bank
13:19account to back it up.
13:20But the Madea film franchise he started with Diary of a Mad Black Woman has become a veritable
13:25Razzie magnet over the years.
13:31In the series, Perry plays the titular Madea, a tough, elderly black woman.
13:35Despite the fact that critics have panned almost all of the Madea films, Perry keeps
13:38making them, and audiences keep coming back for more.
13:42Number 3.
13:43Kevin James
13:44Like so many other Hollywood funnymen, Kevin James got his start in stand-up before breaking
13:48into television and landing his own series.
13:59Towards the end of King of Queens, James made the shift into film, a medium in which he
14:03has made quite the name for himself.
14:05His first starring role in the romantic comedy Hitch saw him playing the lovable but bumbling
14:10Albert Brenneman, and that movie actually did quite well.
14:23Since then, however, the films in which he's had a substantial role have all been widely
14:27panned as the lowest common denominator of family comedies, full of cheap laughs.
14:32Number 2.
14:33Steven Seagal
14:34Steven Seagal made his film debut in 1988, and just four years later scored a box office
14:38and critical hit with Under Siege.
14:44From all indications, the martial artist and actor appeared to have a promising action
14:48movie career ahead of him, but instead, Seagal has spent the last three decades making one
14:52bad movie after another.
14:54Besides Machete, the man hasn't been in one non-documentary feature film that scored more
14:58than 53 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, by the critics or the audience.
15:02In fact, the only other good movie he made was Executive Decision, and he's killed about
15:07one-third of the way into the film.

15:31Number 1.
15:32Adam Sandler
15:33Of all the famous actors out there whose films have taken a nosedive in terms of quality,
15:37Adam Sandler has been going the longest and hardest.
15:43Even when he tries to do better with acclaimed films like Punch-Drunk Love and Uncut Gems,
15:48Sandler quickly reverts to default with a string of terrible, horrible, no-good, very
15:52bad movies.
15:53Despite starring in one critically loathed film after another, he keeps making money
15:57and actually seems to be worth getting into business with.
16:00Netflix signed a film deal with the comedian, and it's been lucrative for both parties.
16:03Looks like Rob Schneider and the rest of the Happy Madison crew will have work for the
16:06foreseeable future.
