00:27I always, honestly, your last interview with me, and if you guys haven't listened to it,
00:32you really should go back and listen to it, is like one of my top favorites of all time.
00:38The couple times that I've been asked to submit episodes for review for one reason or another,
00:44I always include that one.

00:49So, how are you?
00:51It's been a while since you've been on, right before, last time you were here, it was right
00:55before you hosted the AVN Awards.
00:57Correct.
00:58And you fucking swept the floor with all of your awards.
01:01How many did you win?
01:02I won, I took home 14 awards, including Female Performer of the Year.
01:06Wow.
01:07Did you bring like a moving truck for all those awards?
01:09It was, well, actually, I couldn't fit it all in my trunk, so AVN brought it back.
01:14Oh, you couldn't fit it all in your trunk.
01:17Yeah, because I had other things, I had my dresses and other things, so I had to go to
01:21the AVN offices and then it filled my trunk.
01:24You should have known better.
01:25Yeah.
01:26You should have known better to bring like, it'd be actually hilarious if you showed up
01:28with like a little like detached trailer, you know what I mean, like this is for all
01:33my AVN Awards that I know I'm going to win.
01:35Well, I had no idea that I was going to win any awards, let alone that many.
01:41You must have assumed that you'd win at least one.
01:43I had hopes, obviously.
01:45I worked really hard.
01:46I did have hopes, but you can never know what's going to happen and, you know, I never want
01:51to jinx anything.
01:52That's true.
01:53I did work very, very hard last year and this year, so I had hopes and winning Performer
01:59of the Year was incredible, a huge, huge honor, and I was actually inducted into the AVN Hall
02:04of Fame as well.
02:05That is amazing.
02:06Yeah.

02:08Really, really cool.
02:09Yeah, and how long have you been doing, I know you've been in the industry for a while,
02:13but how long have you been doing like hardcore?
02:16Hardcore since 2011.
02:17Okay.
02:18Yeah.
02:19So that would be seven years.
02:22Yeah.
02:24I'm glad you went to school.
02:25Okay.
02:26So that's, I mean, I don't know if that's early to be inducted in the Hall of Fame.
02:31It seems like it's a little on the early side.
02:34Well, I think you have to be in the industry for 10 years, but I've been in the industry
02:40since 2003.
02:41Right.
02:42Okay.
02:43Yeah.
02:44Okay.
02:45So I remember you actually were quite sick right before you went on stage.
02:50It was awful.
02:51And you powered through.
02:53And it was funny, one of the things that I said on the last podcast right before I
02:57was hosting was, you know, there's nothing really I can do right now because I don't
03:00have my script.
03:01All I have to do is make sure I stay well.
03:02Yeah.
03:03And I ended up getting really, really sick.
03:06And I couldn't go to the convention beforehand.
03:08I couldn't be on the floor.
03:09I was sick, in bed, in my hotel in Vegas, just saving my voice because I had acute laryngitis
03:15and I couldn't even really speak.
03:16Wow.
03:17So yeah, it was amazing that I ended up being able to get on stage that night and have a
03:20voice.
03:21So I completely lost it by the end of the night.
03:24When did your voice come back?
03:26Like that day, that morning?
03:27It started to come back at the start of the week.
03:30But every time I started to talk, I started to lose it again.
03:32So I realized I just needed to rest my vocal cords and just not speak to everyone.
03:36Right.
03:37So did you like mime what you wanted?
03:38I texted.
03:39I texted everyone.
03:40Like whiteboard.
03:41Bring me cookies.
03:42I was just Postmatesing everything.
03:45So yeah, it was a very, very exciting night.
03:49Yeah.
03:50Very.
03:52Were you nervous?
03:53Like being in front of all those people on that stage?
03:54Yes.
03:55Was it kind of a terrifying experience?
03:57It wasn't terrifying, but it was more I was nervous because I wanted everyone to have
04:02a fantastic night.
04:04And part of my duties is to make sure that the show runs smoothly and it's a fun show.
04:10So I had nerves about that.
04:14But everyone seemed to enjoy the show and it was an incredible night for me and it was
04:20great to celebrate everybody's achievements for the year.
04:23And yeah.
04:24It's such a big deal, the Avian Awards in our industry, you know, I know a lot of people
04:31like it means a lot to them to win and be nominated and you, I'm sure were nominated
04:38this year.
04:39Yes, actually the nomination party just happened last week.
04:44And some of the movies that I brought along for your Patreon members were actually nominated
04:51for awards, including I Am Angela, which is the big showcase this year, which is nominated
04:56for Best Star Showcase.
04:58I'm nominated again for Female Performer of the Year, which is exciting.
05:02And then I did a number of other projects that got nominated, Angela Loves Women 4 is
05:06nominated for Best All Girl Movie, Angela by Darko.
05:09I think it was six nominations it received.
05:13So yeah, all up, I received 12 Avian Award nominations and my company received another
05:18six Avian Award nominations.
05:20That's amazing.
05:21Yeah.
05:22I think it's hilarious that you texted me, you're like, congratulations on your nomination.
05:27I'm like, what are you talking about?
05:29Clearly, I'm so up on it and you're like, your movie won, it got a nomination.
05:34I'm like, what movie?
05:35And then she tells me that, what was it?
05:38Forbidden Tale.
05:39I don't even know what it's called.
05:40Forbidden Tales.
05:41Forbidden Tales.
05:42Taste of the Forbidden or something.
05:43Yeah.
05:44Something like that.
05:45And I'm like, I don't know that movie.
05:47And then you text me the box cover and it's like, it's my movie.
05:51And I was like, oh yeah, right, I forgot.
05:54Because I have an agency that takes my scenes and kind of puts them together as a compilation
05:58and then distributes them, I guess through post, which clearly I just don't pay any fucking
06:04attention to.
06:05Because I had no idea.
06:06It's really sad.
06:07I haven't seen the movie, but it looks incredible.
06:11The visuals on the box cover are beautiful.
06:13Even the caps on the back and it's an all-star cast.
06:16So congratulations on the nomination that you didn't realize you received.
06:23I think it's because I shoot scenes kind of here and there for my website.
06:27I'm not as focused on producing a final product the way that you are.
06:32So honestly, every year when my agency comes to me and they're like, what do you want to
06:39nominate yourself for?
06:40I'm like, nothing.
06:41Honestly, nothing.
06:42Because, you know, I recognize the people that are really doing incredible work in the
06:48industry.
06:49And I'm not trying to be down on myself, I just kind of don't feel like I'm one of them.
06:54So I was just like, whatever.
06:57But then I realized I actually should have nominated this podcast for best mainstream
07:01thing.
07:02I didn't think about that.
07:03So I'll do that next year.
07:04I just don't, I don't know, I don't really pay a ton of attention.
07:08But and I didn't shoot any feature movies last year.
07:11But I'm shooting, well, I'm shooting for Wicked next month, so I'm definitely doing one this
07:17year.
07:18And, you know, hopefully other stuff too.
07:21So I think next year will be a little different.
07:23But this last year, this last year sucked for me.
07:26But let's not talk about me.
07:27Let's talk about you.
07:28I'm sorry last year, this year sucked.

07:34It's actually getting much better.
07:352019 is going to be fine.
07:37But before we actually started this podcast, I subjected Angela to my like hiding Oreos
07:41in the bathroom problem.
07:42So it's just like, what is wrong with this girl?
07:45That is not what I think at all.
07:47We all have our own little idiosyncrasies.
07:50Yes.
07:51Idiosyncrasies.

07:54Yes, we definitely do.
07:55So I definitely want to talk about your showcase.
07:57But before we get to that, I want to talk about a couple other things that you've been doing.
08:01I want to talk about the weight of infidelity.
08:04Because I don't know.
08:06I know I discussed it with Carla Lane when she was on, but I don't think I talked to
08:10you about it.
08:11No.
08:12Because it was filmed after we did the first podcast.
08:14Right.
08:15Okay.
08:16But we did.
08:17I think it was inspired by your piece, Becky, that you wrote for Asa Akira's Asa Erotica
08:22book, right?
08:23Correct.
08:24Which was an incredible, incredible piece.
08:25And you read it on the podcast.
08:26And it was like, I mean, the way that you write is not only amazing, but you read it
08:31really well with such passion.
08:33It was a very powerful piece.
08:35So tell me how you decided to take that and turn it into an actual scene.
08:40Well, I got a lot of positive feedback from the chapter that I wrote.
08:46And I decided that actually this would really work well as a scene.
08:50Obviously, it needed to be adapted a little bit.
08:52And so I wrote a script based off the chapter.
08:57And I made it a little bit more taboo because I was submitting it to Bree Mills, who runs
09:01puretaboo.com.
09:04And so it has a similar theme.
09:06It focuses on body image and the way that weight is often used as a weapon against both
09:12men and women.
09:13But obviously, my focus in this piece was women.
09:16And I wanted to use my position within the industry to create more inclusivity.
09:22So when I cast the film, and Bree gave me complete control over the cast, I wanted to
09:28have a true BBW performer.
09:31And Carla Lane was the first person to come to mind.
09:35She's a beautiful person, both inside and out.
09:37And turns out, she's an incredible actress as well.
09:41And I learned that very quickly with working closely with her for The Weight of Infidelity.
09:47And it's available for free on puretaboo.com, so I encourage listeners to go and watch it.
09:54And it was actually covered by Jezebel.
09:57So it got mainstream media attention, got a lot of positive feedback from the adult
10:01community as well as the fans.
10:04And it was really nice to make a porn featurette that had meaning, you know, that was powerful,
10:12that looked at topics that are controversial and are not often the subject of adult entertainment.
10:18Yeah, I gotta say, honestly, I really feel that that scene was probably my favorite project
10:25that anybody did this year.
10:27And there was a lot of really amazing stuff that people came out with this year, you know,
10:30with Abigail's Tushy Showcase, that was really amazing.
10:36Obviously your I Am Angela piece, which we will get to.
10:41But that's what I loved about it, was that it was the first time that I'd ever seen a
10:48porn scene and felt an emotional attachment to it, and kind of wanted to cry.
10:55So can you actually tell the listeners exactly what the story is?
