Sonic discovers that the evil Dr. Robotnik has built a new fortress inside the dangerous Mt. Mobius and is once again turning the peaceful animals into mindless robot slaves. After being knocked off their new Tornado plane, Sonic sneaks into the lowest level of Mt. Mobius and must make his way through the Toxic Caves. By collecting Chaos Emeralds and defeating the frightening Scorpius, Sonic gains access to the Lava Powerhouse, which provides power to the rest of the Veg-O-Fortress...
