00:00Right, it's your Geordie Journals, new platform for us.
00:04Some of you guys might be new to seeing us on your TV screens.

00:11having watched us regularly on YouTube.
00:14The Geordie Journals, search it out on YouTube.
00:16I'll introduce myself as this is a brand new thing for all of us.
00:20We're delighted to be beaming out on Shots TV this evening.
00:25My name's Liam Kennedy, I'm the editor of Newcastle World and The Shields Gazette.
00:30Jordan Cronin, Newcastle United writer for Newcastle World.
00:35And Dominic Scurr.
00:37Alright.
00:38I give you a long name today.
00:39Thank you.
00:40Dominic Scurr.
00:41Not a Sunday like.
00:42No.
00:43Newcastle United writer for The Shields Gazette.
00:45We all have our day jobs.
00:47Journalists, by trade.
00:49But we do tend to give a bit of analysis on Newcastle United
00:52and push our opinions and knowledge out to the wider audience.
00:57And we will be doing this every single Monday night on Shots TV.
01:01Potentially local TV down the line as well.
01:04So you'll be able to catch us here, online and on Freeview.
01:09Just keep the conversation going.
01:11So today we're going to talk a little bit about our players to watch for the season ahead.
01:17For the coming season, yeah.
01:18It's a big season for Newcastle United.
01:20It's a big season for a lot of players as well.
01:23And we've just selected three players who we think need to deliver
01:29or a big season is coming up for them this coming campaign.
01:33But it's a massive season isn't it for Newcastle United.
01:35When you think about it, they had the highs of Champions League football.
01:38They managed to get themselves Eddie Howe's tenure.
01:41They've gone from the doldrums of fighting relegation to slight progress.
01:45Then a huge leap towards Champions League.
01:47Then maybe a couple of minor steps back in that seventh place finish.
01:50And no European football this season.
01:53So in general, I think it's a big season.
01:55Never mind the three players to watch that we're all going to individually pick.
01:58I think it's a big season for Eddie Howe as well.
02:00Do you?
02:01Yeah, massive season because whatever way you want to look at last season,
02:06I think in many ways it's probably ending in disappointment
02:09because they didn't get European football.
02:10Now, hopefully now they've got to use the lack or no European football to their advantage.
02:15And by doing that, what do you pick as a success next year?
02:19There'll be a lot of people with different opinions out there.
02:21My personal opinion is I think Newcastle need to go and challenge the top four again.
02:25They need to go and compete for a trophy.
02:27The two and a half years now into this new ownership, progress is needed.
02:32Progress wasn't made last season because they dropped to seventh in the table.
02:38So it's really important now that they push on
02:40and try and reach the levels that they showed in the previous season.
02:44To go and get top four, I think that's probably the bare minimum for me
02:48to at least try and challenge those top four players.
02:50It's really difficult to ask.
02:51It's easier said than done.
02:53But if you want to be a top club competing for the very best trophies,
02:57competing against the best, you've got to be aiming high.
03:00And I think Newcastle will do that this season.
03:02Right, so we'll come out of that.
03:04I think we'll start with you, Dom, I think.
03:06What were you thinking?
03:07If there was a player this season that either you think has got to step up to the plate
03:12or you feel looks almost ready to do so or has a point to prove,
03:17who do you think it's going to be?
03:18There's a player I will be keeping a close eye on this coming season
03:21and who I'm really excited about because we saw glimpses of it last season
03:26and I think it's almost there for this player to grasp with both hands
03:31and he could really take off this coming season.
03:33And that's Tino Livermantle because it's a position where there's a bit of uncertainty.
03:39He was second choice to Kieran Trippier for the majority of last season.
03:43Whenever he came in, he did a brilliant job.
03:45He even did a good job at left-back, but Newcastle are a bit more well-stocked there.
03:49There's uncertainty regarding Kieran Trippier,
03:51whether he'll be at the club or not this coming season.
03:55I think the opportunity is there for Tino Livermantle to grasp it with both hands
04:00and be a starter for Newcastle United.
04:03I think he's got the ability.
04:04We've seen during last season the way he gets forward, his energy.
04:09There was just maybe a bit of question mark over his fitness levels.
04:13He did have that niggling ankle injury.
04:16And I remember being down in Chelsea actually just before the marching national break
04:21and there was whispers if he was fit because of England's right-back situation
04:25that he could have made the England senior squad.
04:28And just because of that injury, he missed out on the under-21s,
04:31missed out on England's...
04:33He was that Brazil friendly, wasn't he? Was it around that time?
04:35Yeah, it was when Anthony Gordon got the call-up.
04:37Anthony Gordon's going to get the call-up.
04:40Tino Livermantle, don't write him off either.
04:42But he got that ankle injury and that's ultimately scuppered his plan.
04:46So I think in the next 12 months, Tino Livermantle could,
04:50if he lives up to his potential, could in 12 months' time be an England international
04:56and Newcastle's starting first choice right-back.
05:00Because I think he's got the potential to do that.
05:02He's 21 years old.
05:04He was Newcastle's best signing last summer, let's be honest.
05:07It was a low bar, but what a player he has the potential to be.
05:12And I know, speaking to Kieran Trippier and what he said,
05:15I mean, Kieran Trippier hypes up any Newcastle player.
05:18He does.
05:19He's the hype man, isn't he?
05:21He's a leader in that way.
05:22But I think Tino Livermantle could be a big player for Newcastle United
05:27for years to come and potentially step into the international bracket as well.
05:32So I'm going to go for a potential future England international,
05:36and that is Lewis Hall.
05:38A player who had a really difficult opening season at Newcastle,
05:42certainly the first three quarters, if you like,
05:45but finished the season really, really strongly.
05:49I think we've seen a lot of those.
05:50I think it was the final 12 games that he played.
05:53He was energetic, really lively.
05:56He got forward really well.
05:58Defensively, I think that was one key issue, I think,
06:01that we've seen with Lewis Hall in these openings at Newcastle
06:04is that he didn't quite know how to play a left back.
06:07He was a midfielder by trade during his Chelsea academy days
06:12and then broke into the first team as a left back,
06:14but was still very, very raw.
06:16I think that probably took Lewis Hall half a season, even more,
06:21to really get up and running and learn the rule.
06:23I think once he came into the team, I thought he was really, really good,
06:28looked much more defensively accomplished.
06:30I think the big plus for me is that Lewis Hall,
06:32you see he's a player that wants to get forward,
06:35and I think that's probably his biggest asset.
06:37I wouldn't say he's got bags of pace,
06:39but he's got a real determination to get forward.
06:41Defensively, again, as I've spoken about there,
06:43he has issues still to address, but has much improved.
06:46He's only 19 years of age as well.
06:48There's a lot I like about Lewis Hall,
06:50and I think he's set down a marker now.
06:52If you had asked me about Lewis Hall six months ago,
06:54I would have said he needed a loan spell this season,
06:56but I think the final period of the season,
06:58I think he's shown that he's almost made the left back spot his own.
07:02Now he's going to face competition next year,
07:04Dan Byrne, if you want, if he's still classed in as a left back.
07:07You've got Lloyd Kelly as well.
07:10He could class Matt Target, but of course,
07:12there's probably a different discussion we had about him,
07:14but I think on that bracket, the players there,
07:16probably bar Lloyd Kelly,
07:18Lewis Hall has a chance to make that left back spot his own now,
07:20and maybe the competition will help him,
07:22but I think the opening day against Southampton,
07:25I think Lewis Hall, given what he achieved in the back end of last season,
07:28probably deserves a start for that opening day.
07:31I like that.
07:32You've both gone down the flanks.
07:34You've gone with young prospects.
07:36I think it's a big season.
07:37I tend to agree with you.
07:38I'm going to go slightly different,
07:40but I think your two picks,
07:41Tino Liveromento for me,
07:43was the highlight of the first part of the season,
07:45and Lewis Hall for me was the real flourish at the end of the season.
07:48I didn't expect what I saw from Lewis Hall at the very end.
07:51He looked a lot more accomplished.
07:53He didn't look anywhere near ready for me,
07:54and I think anybody who regularly watches the Geordie Journos on YouTube
07:57will know my opinions on Lewis Hall,
07:59but for everybody coming to a first on TV,
08:01I don't think he looked like a lad who knew the position.
08:03I don't think he knew how to defend properly,
08:06the positions to be in,
08:07and it's taken him, as you said,
08:08a long time to get there.
08:10But the signs that we saw,
08:11look, there were still rough edges.
08:13I think you got the runaround down at Fulham
08:15off Adama Traore and Alex Iwobi,
08:18but there were plenty of other flashes where you're like,
08:20look, I think it's eventually getting through,
08:22and he's getting the position.
08:24So there's a lot of light there.
08:25He's going to have a challenge to be in the team.
08:27I think Lloyd Kelly, in my opinion,
08:29has been signed to play that position,
08:30but Lewis Hall gives you something totally different
08:33and give you a lot more attacking
08:35than what Lloyd Kelly will.
08:36And on Livramento, it's the injuries.
08:38I think it's purely the injuries.
08:39I think he would have been in the national this year
08:42had he been able to hold down a place for his injuries
08:44because every time you got a chance,
08:46you're thinking, right,
08:47establish yourself as the right back.
08:48When Trippie was out, he got another injury.
08:51And the best run that he had
08:52was during that Champions League period
08:54where he played left back week in, week out,
08:56and he never let the team down.
08:58But I think this is a big season for him
08:59to really nail that position down.
09:02My big season.
09:04It's slightly different to you guys.
09:05You've gone down the flank.
09:06Sam goes straight down the middle.
09:07It's Sandro Tonali.
09:09Might seem really obvious.
09:10No, that's what my signing?
09:11Yes, and he's talked about the low bar.
09:13He set the low bar.
09:14He was the star stellar signing,
09:16meant to bring a flash of quality
09:18and continental flair to a midfield
09:22that maybe lacked it in certain departments
09:24and brought none of it, none of it at all,
09:26because, of course, he had a ban for betting offences,
09:30which has held him back massively.
09:32And I think what I'd like to see
09:34is that there is real star quality
09:36in Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak,
09:38Anthony Gordon not far behind them.
09:40You've talked about the livermint.
09:41There's some good players in that new casting.
09:43He scored Joe Linton, even.
09:45Tonali, for me, is going to take that step
09:47and be one of the class players.
09:48He was signed for a lot of money
09:50with a big pedigree behind him,
09:52full Italian international, 20-odd caps,
09:54played in Champions League semifinals,
09:56a star in AC Milan that didn't want to let him go.
09:59So, for me, he's the player, I would say,
10:02that has the most to prove.
10:03I think he owes...
10:04Look, we're not going to go into the
10:07what's and wherefores of gambling addiction
10:09and what happened and what's gone before.
10:11That's all in the past.
10:12Looking forward to the future,
10:13he misses the first two games,
10:14so he isn't going to start the season in the position.
10:17So it'll be interesting to see who takes up that role,
10:19whether it be Sean Longstaff,
10:20whether it be Elliot Anderson,
10:21whether it be anybody.
10:23Lewis Miley could be any of these players.
10:25Joe Willock, potentially, as well.
10:27There's a chance for any of those players
10:29to step in and take that role.
10:30But Tonali, two games in,
10:31is then going to have the chance
10:32to really put down his marker.
10:34We'll see him for the first time,
10:36you'll have to correct me,
10:37is it the 31st of August?
10:3831st of August would be his return to...
10:39Yeah, subject to change
10:40because that Tottenham Hotspur game
10:43could get moved for the team.
10:45Tottenham Hotspur at home
10:47always has the bright lights that day.
10:49It's got that sparkle about,
10:50that Premier League sparkle.
10:51Whether it's the home team, the away team,
10:53whatever, they always bring goals,
10:54always bring entertainment and flair.
10:56So it'll be brilliant for Tonali to be involved.
10:58I think he'll be electric that day
11:00at St James' Park when he eventually does
11:02get the chance probably to come on from the bench.
11:04But I want to see him lay down a marker.
11:06I want to see a real...
11:08I want to see him lead.
11:10He was classed as a leader at AC Milan
11:12despite his young age.
11:13He was Italian under-21 captain
11:15up until very recently.
11:17So I want to see him lay down a big marker
11:19and become a class player
11:23in that Newcastle United squad.
11:24And maybe that'll take the pressure off
11:26the squad as a whole,
11:28having a player like him
11:29able to take on some of the set-piece responsibilities,
11:32creative responsibilities,
11:33goalscoring, leadership.
11:35I want to see a lot from him
11:36because I think he owes Newcastle United,
11:38who stood by him.
11:39He owes the fans who supported him
11:41through all of this process.
11:42And most importantly,
11:44he owes all of his teammates' performances
11:47because they were getting sent out
11:49when they were on their last legs last season
11:51when there was no other players to play
11:52and he was fit and training.
11:53So if I was him,
11:54I'd feel like I owe Newcastle United
11:56and the fans and the players too.
11:58So stay tuned.
11:59After the break,
12:00we'll be discussing this in a little bit more depth.
12:02But worth regarding,
12:03Alexander Isak and Bruno Kimoraes.
12:05Welcome back.
12:07The Geordie Journals are back on your screens.
12:09Right.
12:10You heard our players to watch
12:12for the season ahead
12:13in that first half of the programme.
12:16Now we're going to talk about two players
12:17that you've already watched
12:19and you know are top class.
12:21But there has been some sort of concerns
12:23about future to level in different degrees.
12:26And that's Alexander Isak,
12:28Newcastle United's Swedish striker,
12:31one of the best on the planet.
12:33And Bruno Kimoraes,
12:34who regular watchers of Geordie Journals
12:36on YouTube will know,
12:37I've got a little bit of a love affair with him.
12:40I do love Bruno.
12:41I think a lot of people do.
12:43Yeah, yeah.
12:44I don't think I'm alone in that.
12:45And that's probably journalist hat off,
12:47supporter hat on there.
12:49It happens quite a lot,
12:50even in the press box sometimes.
12:52Jordan, thoughts on,
12:54I suppose the more topical of the two
12:56I would say this week
12:57is probably Alexander Isak,
12:59considering there was all that talk last week
13:02with regards Chelsea interest.
13:04What do you make of it?
13:06Yeah, I laughed at it to be honest.
13:09Chelsea have got no chance of signing Alexander Isak.
13:13I don't think many clubs in world football
13:16have a chance of signing Alexander Isak.
13:19And why?
13:20Because his price tag is astronomical.
13:23And there isn't enough money being spent
13:25in world football at this moment
13:27to go and sign a player like Alexander Isak.
13:30For me, he is worth more to Newcastle
13:33than any money really.
13:35I would probably say he was priceless,
13:37to be honest.
13:38Just a world-class footballer
13:42and I wouldn't swap him for anyone.
13:45I think these guys would probably be
13:47the same we've had discussions before on YouTube
13:49of comparisons to Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland.
13:52They're two very different players
13:54but for me, Isak is just an all-rounder,
13:56can play anywhere across the front three.
13:58He's pacey, silky,
14:00I've said it many times, Thierry Henry-esque.
14:03He is.
14:04I think he's been a perfect signing for Newcastle.
14:08Because he has had his injury troubles,
14:11I think that's probably one side
14:12that we've maybe overlooked a little bit.
14:14I think when he first arrived
14:16for that ÂŁ63 million club record,
14:18I think it was a thigh injury that he had
14:21that ruled him out for pretty much half a season.
14:24Finished that season really strong,
14:26linking up with Callum Wilson
14:27or rotating between Callum Wilson.
14:29And then last season, although he missed
14:31I think it was 10 games with an injury again,
14:35he scored 25 goals.
14:37He's a goal record.
14:38I think he's averaging a goal
14:41just over every two games.
14:43It's an incredible record.
14:45You think about past strikers,
14:47Newcastle have had some decent strikes
14:50since Alan Shearer,
14:51I would put Demba Bar for example.
14:53He probably has good spells with Loic Remy.
14:57Partly a seasick to some extent.
15:00Six months.
15:01Yeah.
15:02That has been good.
15:03Even throwing like...
15:05Callum Wilson?
15:06Callum Wilson.
15:07Oh yeah.
15:08There was a season of like,
15:09I know it was a low bar,
15:10but Solomon Rondon for that season
15:12was excellent.
15:13This is another level.
15:14Yeah, that's the point I was getting onto.
15:16Alexander Isak wipes the floor
15:18with all those players
15:19and for me he's the best striker
15:21I've seen at the Football Club
15:23since Alan Shearer.
15:25And when you find a player like that
15:27to strike,
15:28that's really, really hard to find.
15:30And when you find a striker
15:31of Alexander Isak's quality,
15:32you do everything to keep hold of him.
15:34And Newcastle for me
15:35will not sell Alexander Isak
15:37under any circumstances.
15:38There's no thing in the world
15:40that could buy Isak out on Newcastle.
15:42I think he's priceless
15:44and yeah,
15:45I don't think he goes anywhere this season.
15:48At least I think his future
15:50will be decided by what Newcastle do.
15:52The ambition,
15:53which I spoke about earlier in the video.
15:55As long as Newcastle keep progressing,
15:56challenging for Europe,
15:57trying to win trophies,
15:58I'm pretty sure Alexander Isak
15:59and the likes of Bruno's,
16:00which will come on,
16:01will want to stay
16:02and I think it's really important
16:03that Newcastle do push on
16:04as a Football Club
16:05to keep these world-class talents
16:07that they currently have.
16:08Yeah, Alexander Isak,
16:09like you say,
16:10is irreplaceable
16:11in this Newcastle side.
16:12Eddie Howe even said it,
16:13he wouldn't swap Alexander Isak
16:15for any other striker
16:16in world football.
16:17And when you look
16:18at the strikers
16:19that are available
16:20in terms of number nines
16:21or even like slightly deeper roles,
16:24number tens and things like that,
16:25I think he is right,
16:27right up there
16:28like with the very best.
16:31Okay, there's the injury issues he's had,
16:33but if he's playing,
16:35he could get in
16:36almost any team in the world.
16:39He doesn't get in Man City's team?
16:40Yes, because of the way
16:42Erling Haaland plays.
16:43Erling Haaland,
16:44like I've said,
16:45if you check this out
16:46on YouTube,
16:47me and Liam spoke about this the other day,
16:48the importance of Alexander Isak
16:49to Newcastle
16:50and you brought up
16:51the Erling Haaland point.
16:53He is a goal-scoring machine,
16:54Erling Haaland.
16:55He doesn't get in Man City's team,
16:58Alexander Isak,
16:59but I wouldn't say
17:00Erling Haaland necessarily
17:01gets in Newcastle's team
17:03of Alexander Isak
17:04just because of the way
17:05they play.
17:06I disagree.
17:07I think Erling Haaland
17:09doesn't fit Manchester City properly.
17:11Right.
17:12I think he was brilliant
17:13at Dortmund when he played
17:14on the shoulder
17:15and ran in behind.
17:16Plays at Manchester City
17:17with 11 men in front of him.
17:19He's feeding off scraps.
17:21I think if you put Alexander Isak
17:22in Manchester City's team,
17:23he would find some
17:24of the same struggles
17:25because he kind of wants
17:26to drop in
17:27and spaces
17:28to run out people.
17:29I think it's actually
17:30a problem in Manchester City
17:31to put any striker in there
17:33and they would find it tough.
17:34So I think
17:35put Haaland in another team,
17:36I think he'd possibly
17:37score more goals.
17:38You reckon?
17:39I do.
17:40It's a mad opinion,
17:41but I actually think
17:42he would, yeah.
17:43But I can't disagree with you.
17:44I think he's,
17:45Alexander Isak's potentially
17:47in the top two strikers
17:48on the planet.
17:49I don't think
17:50there's many like him.
17:52And I think he's
17:53an amazing player
17:54that would send
17:55all the wrong messages
17:56when you cast him
17:57and even to consider
17:58letting him go.
17:59We've talked about a project
18:00at this football club
18:01since the autumn of 2001
18:03when it was taken over
18:04by the public investment
18:06fund of Saudi Arabia.
18:07What did I say?
18:082001.
18:092001.
18:10I would have hoped
18:11we'd won a trophy by then.
18:142021.
18:15Absolutely.
18:162021.
18:17We've been talking
18:18about the project.
18:19The project has always
18:20been progressive,
18:21upwardly mobile.
18:22And although
18:23sometimes upwardly mobile
18:24football clubs
18:25can let footballers go
18:26to rebuild elsewhere,
18:28I've never understood
18:30the idea of
18:31taking the foundations
18:33from underneath
18:34the building
18:35when you're trying
18:36to put it up.
18:37I think it brings it down.
18:39I just don't see
18:40Isak or Bruno Guimaraes
18:42being saleable assets
18:44at the moment.
18:45Which kind of
18:46sort of takes us
18:47straight on to the
18:48Bruno thing
18:49in my opinion.
18:50And that's
18:51another big talking point
18:52of the summer
18:53at Newcastle United
18:54has been
18:55will he or won't he?
18:56Is Bruno Guimaraes
18:57going to stay?
18:58Is he not going to stay?
18:59And the difference
19:00between the Isak situation
19:01and Guimaraes situation,
19:02which I'm sure
19:03all you guys out there
19:04will know already
19:05if you're Newcastle United fans,
19:06is that
19:07the problem was
19:08it was never
19:09in the club's hands.
19:10Were any football club
19:12could have been
19:13crawly
19:14were they
19:15Tacoma or
19:16Manchester City
19:17or Real Madrid
19:18or Scunthorpe United.
19:19If anybody came in
19:20with ÂŁ100 million
19:21Bruno Guimaraes
19:22had the option
19:23to speak to them.
19:24And it was up to
19:25him really
19:26whether he wanted
19:27to speak to them.
19:28So that's where
19:29it kind of gets greyed
19:30a little bit.
19:31There's probably only
19:32four or five clubs
19:33max that he would
19:34consider speaking to.
19:35Look,
19:36were Manchester City
19:37to have
19:38put down
19:39the ÂŁ100 million
19:40or report
19:41ÂŁ100 million
19:42that would have
19:43triggered the release clause
19:44then I can imagine
19:45he would have
19:46wanted to speak to them.
19:47Were it to be
19:48somebody further
19:49down the food chain
19:50I don't think
19:51a lot of clubs
19:52could have afforded them.
19:53That's probably
19:54the biggest thing.
19:55But it would have been
19:56in Bruno Guimaraes'
19:57decision
19:58whether he then
19:59went and spoke
20:00to these clubs.
20:02Liverpool and Arsenal
20:03I'm not really certain
20:04whether that would have been
20:05a talking point.
20:06It potentially
20:07could have been.
20:08But then other giants
20:09like Barcelona
20:10who I've been told
20:11on numerous occasions
20:12over the last
20:13three years
20:14since Nick Cassidy
20:15signed them
20:16they love
20:17Bruno Guimaraes.
20:18You know,
20:19a couple of
20:20ten-pence mix-ups
20:21and 17 players
20:22in a player trade
20:23isn't going to
20:24solve any
20:25PSR
20:26or
20:27issues
20:28that anybody
20:29might have.
20:30So I think
20:31Bruno Guimaraes
20:32was
20:33a different situation.
20:34He said
20:35a lot of things.
20:36He said a lot of things
20:37at this football club
20:38which
20:39kind of
20:40always made me think
20:42if you go
20:43I don't think
20:44it'll be looked upon
20:45very well.
20:46He's done a lot
20:47of the passionate things
20:48the stuff that we love
20:49the ingratiating yourself
20:50the really getting stuck
20:51in them
20:52and you're casting out
20:53you're kissing the badge
20:54and staying.
20:55He's done all of that
20:56where he then
20:57jumped ship
20:58on the first
20:59despite his
21:00legendary status
21:01as he's built up already.
21:02I think
21:03if you're going to do that
21:04and it's in your mind
21:05to do that
21:06at some point
21:07you never do any
21:08of that stuff.
21:09So I'd always had that
21:10faith that he seems
21:11like an honest guy
21:12and he wants to
21:13become a hero
21:14when you're casting out.
21:15He didn't just want to come
21:16and use it as a stepping stone.
21:17He wanted to achieve
21:18things here.
21:19Now that's also
21:20caveated by the fact
21:21that if he can't
21:22achieve those things
21:23if you're casting out
21:24another season
21:25where they don't
21:26live up to expectation
21:27I don't think anybody
21:28would have given it
21:29another year.
21:30If he'd gone now
21:31then I think
21:32it would have come
21:33with some criticism.
21:34Running at the first sign
21:35of trouble isn't it
21:36which you never
21:37want to see.
21:38And he hasn't
21:39done that really.
21:40He hasn't shown any signs
21:41that he wants to do that.
21:42Now it's a long summer
21:43we've got a lot of time
21:44before the transfer window
21:45closes and you're casting
21:46it could be tested
21:47in that period.
21:48We don't know yet.
21:49However
21:50he hasn't
21:51agitated
21:52and that's
21:53the best possible sign.
21:54If you add that
21:55to the history
21:56that he's shown
21:57the passion
21:58for the club
21:59the wanting
22:00to write himself
22:01in the history books
22:02that's quoting him
22:03not anybody talking
22:04around him
22:05he's said that himself
22:06it makes us think
22:07that he's going to
22:08be in your casting
22:09for a little while longer.
22:10Next summer
22:11becomes a totally
22:12different conversation
22:13whether that release
22:14clause carries on
22:15we don't know
22:16but we'll have to
22:17wait and see.
22:18He's really ingrained
22:19himself to life
22:20in the North East
22:21he refers to both
22:22his kids as Geordies
22:23that were born here
22:24his mum and dad
22:25are over here
22:26his wife's obviously
22:27familiarised with
22:28the area as well
22:29I think he's really
22:30taken into
22:31the lifestyle
22:32of being up here
22:33of being an icon
22:34really which is
22:35what he is
22:36and like you say
22:37from the moment
22:38he signed
22:39he's speaking about
22:40Champions League
22:41wanting to win something
22:42and that message
22:43has always been
22:44consistent from Bruno
22:45and I think you're right
22:46there's probably
22:47a life span
22:48to that message
22:49and I think
22:50maybe there's another
22:5112 months
22:52pushing
22:53pushing your luck
22:54maybe two years
22:55before he goes
22:56right I need to
22:57actually
22:58fulfil my
22:59my potential
23:00as an individual
23:01as a footballer
23:02which is
23:03to play a Champions League
23:04every season
23:05to win trophies
23:06because so far
23:07the only trophies
23:08he's really won
23:09have been in South America
23:10so he needs to be
23:11winning something
23:12with Newcastle United
23:13or really pushing
23:14towards the top end
23:15of the Premier League
23:16season after season
23:17not just one off
23:18fleeting
23:19fleeting things
23:20Turns 27 next year
23:21doesn't he
23:22which
23:23it's not old
23:24because I'm 27
23:25I don't think I'm old
23:26but in terms of
23:27a football career
23:28you probably do
23:29when you're at that age
23:30look to
23:31if you've got ambitions
23:32to win trophies
23:33in the club you're at
23:34isn't doing it
23:35and you probably do
23:36look to maybe move on
23:37but I think
23:38Bruno this season
23:39you've mentioned there
23:40he's ingrained himself
23:41into Newcastle United
23:42now Newcastle have
23:43missed out on Europe
23:44this year
23:45I think
23:46the type of player
23:47that he is
23:48the type of character
23:49that he is
23:50I think he'll be
23:51determined to try
23:52and get this club
23:53the type of player
23:54that he is
23:55he loves the club
23:56when he speaks
23:57I believe him
23:58so I think there's
23:59someone
24:00look
24:01someone Michael
24:02but for me
24:03Newcastle
24:04the future has
24:05Newcastle have got
24:06his future
24:07in their hands
24:08their wealth
24:09and their right to say no
24:10and I do think
24:11they'll do that
24:12Bruno will give them
24:13a year
24:14and then we'll see
24:15what happens next year
24:16but as I mentioned
24:17Mahisa
24:18these players
24:19their futures
24:20will be controlled
24:21by what Newcastle
24:22will have to stop
24:23this bit
24:24but what time
24:25what has
24:26I think we're
24:27quite close
24:28probably gone over
24:29which is better
24:30because you can
24:31cut it down
24:32rather than
24:33so I just
24:34should I just
24:35do like
24:36thanks for watching
24:37yeah
24:38just say I'm
24:39we'll wrap it up
