00:00Emma Howarth, Epson Training Provider 3T. What exactly is it you guys do?
00:04So 3T are the UK's leading training provider to the oil and gas industry and the energy sector overall.
00:11We train in excess of 100,000 learners every year at our training centres throughout the UK.
00:17And what exactly will the facility here at Durham be used for?
00:20So the facility here at Durham is a collaboration with Vital Fire Solutions
00:24and together we have built a full size helideck and helicopter simulator
00:29to enable emergency response training for the energy sector to take place.
00:33The centre was approved by a PEO a couple of weeks ago and our first courses will be taking place next week.
00:43So current industry standards demand that a percentage of workers on an oil and gas platform at any one time
00:49have to be trained in emergency fire response.
00:52So this training is equally as important to the employers as it is to the delegates that come on the training courses.
00:57It does really help to enhance their CV and obviously from an employability perspective as well,
01:02from a career prospect they are able to be part of a fire training team.
01:06The courses that we will run here in collaboration with Vital Fire Solutions
01:10are run by trained and experienced fire men as such, you know, in line with the fire brigade.
01:17And yeah, the guys will get a really, really great experience here in terms of the simulation and real life experiences.

01:29Rob, what's this facility about?
01:31Well the facility, actually the helideck itself, is the partnership we went into with a company called 3T
01:37who are a multinational training provider for the offshore industry.
01:41What the helideck, essentially what happens with the helidecking,
01:45any offshore training goes through a standard call of PEO.
01:48For those that don't know what PEO is, it's similar to Ofsted where you get audited.
01:52This is just one venture as part of our trading arm, Vital Fire Solutions,
01:58that we offer to the industrial sector.
02:02So not only do we provide to the offshore sector, we do industrial training for partners such as
02:07Sellafield, Glaxo, SmithKline, Axanomal, companies such as that.
02:11What's the relationship between Vital Fire Solutions and the fire service?
02:15So Vital Fire Solutions is a trading arm of Cairnrydham and Darling Fire and Rescue Service
02:21and the authority. We've been going for over a decade now,
02:24but more recently we've really got in the industrial sector, in particular the offshore side of it.
02:31Any money that we make through the trading arm, through Vital Fire Solutions,
02:36is reinvested back into the organisation.
