Boeing Faces Possible Criminal Charges as DOJ Reviews Violation of 737 MAX Agreement

U.S. prosecutors met with Boeing lawyers on Thursday to discuss the government's finding that Boeing violated a 2021 deferred prosecution agreement over the 737 MAX crashes that killed 346 people. Under the agreement, Boeing avoided prosecution but had to overhaul its compliance practices and submit regular reports over 3 years. The DOJ will decide by July 7th whether to criminally charge Boeing or work out a resolution with the company. The investigations stem from crashes of Boeing's 737 MAX aircraft in 2018 and 2019 that killed 346 people.
