Major Cyberattack Wrecks Havoc at 15,000 Car Dealerships Across North America

An ongoing cyberattack on CDK Global, whose software car dealerships use to manage operations, has crippled over 15,000 dealerships across North America. Dealerships cannot track customer interactions, orders, sales, and payroll, which is hurting their business and ability to operate normally. Workers are concerned about getting paid. The software outage is estimated to result in $944 million in direct losses for affected dealerships if it lasts 3 weeks due to business interruptions. CDK Global says they are slowly bringing some dealerships back online but do not expect the full resolution until July.
