00:00As Liverpool joins the rest of the country in preparing to go to the polls on Thursday,
00:05schools, leisure centres and libraries are getting ready to play their part.
00:09Hundreds of venues across the city's five constituencies are expecting to welcome
00:13thousands of voters later this week as they have their say on the future of the country.
00:18Polling stations open from 7am to 10pm in Liverpool Walton, Riverside, West Derby, Wavertree and Garston.
00:26Owing to changes set out by the Boundary Commission, each of Liverpool's constituencies look slightly different for this election,
00:32with electoral wards moving across newly drawn boundaries.
00:36In the case of Liverpool Walton, the seat now extends into the Sefton Borough of Aintree,
00:40while Liverpool West Derby picked up two areas in Heighton and Knowsley.
00:44For the first time, voters will require photo ID to cast their ballot.
00:48The accepted forms of identification can be found on the Electoral Commission website.
00:53Details of where to find your polling station can be found on your polling card,
00:56which has been issued to all eligible voters by post.
