00:00For some time now, thousands of Spanish residents have been protesting against mass tourism.
00:07In fact, it was reported that thousands more residents took to the streets of Malaga on
00:11June 29th to protest the tourism model, which has been referred to as excessive.
00:16There, demonstrators gathered with Spanish banners, reading Malaga for living, not surviving.
00:22The number of visitors to Spain is expected to top 100 million this year, more than double
00:27the country's actual population.
00:29As a result, residents complain about the saturation of public space in facilities such
00:34as public transport, as well as the issue of housing.
00:37It's reported that tourist apartment trade has driven out local residents to historic
00:42urban areas.
00:43Some protesters have even referred to tourists as a plague.
00:46The demonstrations in Malaga, organised by Malaga Tenants Union, was backed by nearly
00:5150 other organisations, including Greenpeace and Oxfam.
00:55But what do you think about the protests?
00:57Has it discouraged you from taking a trip to Spain this year?
