00:00You are helping so many people in the process too, and I'm sure that's probably another big reason of what keeps you going.
00:06And I know that you did, I think you opened up a few months ago about how you lost 100 pounds.
00:12How did the internet respond to that? Were they happy for you? Was it mixed reactions?
00:17How did you feel that the reaction was to that?
00:20Well, it's funny. I mean, 50 pounds I lost years ago, and then I lost 50 pounds after my mother died.
00:26So to me, it's not a huge change.
00:29But what it shows is that people on the internet, they see what they want to see, and they project themselves onto you.
00:35So I could post something today, and half the comments would say,
00:39Oh my gosh, you're skinny, like you're literally skinny now, even though I'm almost 300 pounds.
00:44And then the other half of the comments would say, Oh my God, she's as big as she's ever been.
00:48I mean, that's why I hate people commenting on my body,
00:51because it is literally just whatever people want to see that day, that time, that picture,
00:57they say. People constantly tell me, Oh, you've lost more weight.
01:01And I say, No, I haven't. I weigh myself every day.
01:04Like I can tell you exactly what I've weighed at every point of my entire life.
01:08I even have people in my personal life, you know, somebody I saw last week.
01:11Oh my God, how much more weight have you lost? None. Yes, you have.
01:15It's like, it's actually really offensive. Sure, yeah.
01:19So I don't know, people see what they want to see.
01:21I will say, of course, with like the Ozempic craze and everything like that,
01:26I got questioned a lot. It's funny. Simultaneously, people are insisting.
01:29I must have had weight loss surgery and then other people are saying she hasn't lost a pound.
01:32So, but you know, in terms of that, I think, you know,
01:37it's nuanced within the body positive community, whether people support that or they don't.
01:43I personally have no hard and fast opinion about it.
01:46I think people have the right to do whatever they want to do with their own bodies.
01:50And as a fat person who's been fat my entire adult life,
01:54I would never shame or criticize another fat person
01:58for choosing to do something that makes their life easier.
02:01Yeah. Are you tempted to do it at all?
02:06Um, I'm not saying that I wouldn't necessarily.
02:10I don't know. It's not something that I've really thought about or,
02:13you know, have felt like the medical need for,
02:15but it's not something that I would say I would never do.
02:19Yeah. You said before that you weigh yourself every day.
02:22How do you feel in your skin today?
02:25And why do you weigh yourself every day?
02:27Oh, I feel good. Actually, one of the reasons I weigh myself every day now is
02:30because I've just recently become a woman in the last few years with PCOS.
02:35I've just now started getting a cycle.
02:37So I love like I kind of just follow, you know, just recently I went up 10 pounds,
02:42you know, and then I got my period the next day and it was down all gone the next day.
02:47So I kind of track based on that.
02:49I know it's really sad. I'm 40 and I'm a changing woman.
02:53But um, but yeah, it's just a habit really.
02:55It's not um, it's not for any reason like it doesn't make me feel any kind of way
03:00or you know, I'm not actively trying to lose weight.
03:03But yeah.
