After several years without its beloved pub, the Victorian town of Brim has seen it social centre burst back to life, thanks to new owners Steven and Barb Donelly and Allan Crane
Transcript
00:00It's been several years since the commercial hotel in Brim poured what many thought would be its last beer.
00:05The owners were no longer able to run the business and a search for a buyer went unanswered so the pub closed.
00:10But in 2023 new life was brought to Brim. New owners Barb and Stephen Dunnelly and Alan Crane from Gippsland bought the pub.
00:19The trio spent six months renovating, painting inside and out and replacing the fridges and wiring and all that had deteriorated over the years.
00:27And in June 2024 the door to the Brim Hotel swung open once again.
00:32It's so exciting. The main reason is it's given the community the ability to reconnect.
00:40They come together on a Thursday or a Friday or a Saturday and they just talk and it's the nicest thing.
00:49It's been our biggest joy of starting the pub up again.
