Transcript
00:00Hello, I'm Dominic Collis from the Burnley Express and Nelson Leader and I'll be bringing
00:04you live updates today from the Pendle and Clitheroe count here at Pendle Leisure Centre
00:09in Corn. Pendle and Clitheroe is a new seat formed from the old Pendle seat which has
00:15now taken Clitheroe and some surrounding villages. It's also lost Briarfield to Burnley. Andrew
00:22Stephenson the Tory MP has represented Pendle since 2010, a long-running Tory MP who was
00:30elected in 2010 with a majority of 3,585. In the subsequent elections since he's increased
00:37his vote share every time and will actually be one of the Tories who will be a bit more
00:43positive this time than many of his colleagues of holding his seat. As I said before he has
00:51gained Clitheroe and surrounding villages which are mainly Tory areas and lost Briarfield
00:57which traditionally has been a strong Labour area so that should see him in good stead.
01:03However he will be facing the challenge of first-time Labour candidate Jonathan Hinder.
01:09There is also a Reform candidate on the card, Lib Dem Green and some Independents as well
01:15so we'll see how he goes as the night progresses. Thank you.
