Conservative: James Morris has been serving the community as MP for many years , we get his thoughts at this stage of the night.

00:00When you're ready. Just a quick one about how you're feeling nationally and locally.

00:07I mean, it's looking a bit of a... there's no point in sort of sweetening the pill.

00:13It's a disastrous result across the country for the Conservative Party.

00:17I've been pretty proud about the campaign that I've run locally.

00:21I'm not sure how it's going to turn out. It's looking pretty tight.

00:25We fought a very, very local campaign about all the work that I'd done over the last 14 years.

00:31You know, we've achieved a lot.

00:34We protected the Green Belt across the south part of Hales-Owen.

00:37We brought a lot more jobs and investment into the area.

00:40Improving transport links. Fighting for health services.

00:44So I've run on my local track record and I got a lot of positive responses on the door.

00:51And, you know, in the end, in politics, that's an important thing.

00:55Yeah. And I guess this is the nitty-gritty now, isn't it? It's coming down to the wire.

01:00How are you feeling inside?

01:04Well, look, you know, I've dedicated 17 years of my career to politics.

01:10I've been involved in frontline politics in Hales-Owen for 17 years.

01:13And, you know, it's a big commitment of time and a big commitment of effort.

01:18I think most people in Hales-Owen would say, not everybody because you make enemies in politics,

01:24but most people would say that they think I have done a decent job as the MP.

01:29And, you know, when you go into public life, I think that would be a good result, you know, for people to say that.

01:37So that's an important part of this.
