01:081,198, thank you, and I do hereby declare that Lindsay Harvey Hoyle has been duly elected
01:15as the new Acting Returning Officer of the election.
01:19I'm going to turn it over to the Court to have a brief one-on-one interview with him.
01:34First of all, can I say thank you to everybody who's taking part in tonight and getting the
01:39results out.
01:41Also, Returning Officer, police and everybody involved, those who've been at polling stations
01:45all day today, I want to thank, of course, the people of Chorley, who once again re-elected
01:51me as the Member of Parliament for Chorley.
01:55It is such a pleasure to serve the best constituency in the country.
02:00It is about delivery, it is about looking after Chorley, and that is why it has been
02:11such a majority tonight, even better percentage-wise.
02:16Thank you to the team that looks after me, my agent, David, the people who've been out
02:22there delivering leaflets, I've got to say it's been a man of task, the few of us that's
02:27been out there, thank you for what you've done.
02:29Lots of true love has been lost, but it's paid the dividend we wanted, that Chorley
02:34wanted an MP that delivers for Chorley, and that's what I'll continue to do.
02:41I will work with the local authority to make sure we get the best for Chorley, and I will
02:47go back to Parliament.
02:49I will stand for Parliament as the Speaker, and if I do get re-elected Speaker, my reassurance
02:57will be not only will we continue to get the best for Chorley, but I will also fight
03:03for peace across the world.
03:04Whether that's in the Middle East, whether that's in Europe, there is no room for wars
03:10in the world today.
03:12We need peace, I will continue to fight for peace.
03:15It matters to me.
03:17This result matters.
03:18It's been one of the most difficult years, and this year when I lost my father, this
03:24is the first time I've stood on this platform where he's not been here with me.
03:28I've got to say, it's in his memory, this result tonight.
03:32I've got to thank him and my wife Catherine for the support they've given me.
03:37He was a proud trade unionist, one of the greatest trade unionist socialist MPs that
03:42we've had in this country.
03:44So I say to him, thank you for what you've taught me father, I will continue to deliver
03:48for Chorley.
03:49Thanks for everybody to making this election.
03:51Thanks to Chorley for the country as well.
03:53Let's continue with our good work.
03:55Thanks everybody.
04:15I'd like to just say thank you very much everyone for all of your hard work this morning.
04:20I'm going to disappear very quickly now.
04:22So thank you, drive safely, or however you're getting home, and have a good rest of your
04:26days.
04:27Thank you.
