00:00The Department of Agriculture is now implementing the Rise for All program
00:04that will bring in cheaper rice for purchase,
00:07not only for the vulnerable sector, but for all Filipinos.
00:11That and more in the report of Bella Lesboras.
00:17If Ms. Belin is the one who will ask,
00:19she is a part of a huge group of people who will benefit from the 29 pesos per kilo of rice
00:25that can be purchased in Kadiwa Stores.
00:28She is a beneficiary of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps.
00:32And because she is also in Kadiwa Outlet,
00:35she will be able to buy cheap vegetables and other agricultural products.
00:40As a member of 4Ps, the cheap price of a kilo of rice is a big thing
00:46because I am also a solo parent, I don't have a husband.
00:49I am the only one taking care of my children.
00:51I am the only one studying.
00:53That's why it's a big thing for us.
00:55I go to the sideline to wash.
00:57Then I have a shop inside.
01:00We also go to the market when we go to the market.
01:03There's even a rope there.
01:04Sometimes it's dangerous because of the rope.
01:06Friday of Marangkada is the large-scale trial of Program 29.
01:11In Kadiwa Stores in Metro Manila and Bulacan,
01:14the price of rice is only 29 pesos per kilo,
01:18including Manila, Taguig, Las Piñas, Caloocan, Marikina, Valenzuela, and San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
01:26This is open for the so-called vulnerable sector,
01:29including 4Ps, which includes single parents, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens.
01:37But the Department of Agriculture is also planning to launch the Rice for All Program
01:43or Murang Bigas para sa Lahat ng Pilipino.
01:46This means that not only the vulnerable sector will benefit from rice
01:50that is being sold at a lower price compared to the market.
01:54According to Agriculture Assistant Secretary Genevieve Guevara,
01:57the price of their rice will range from 45 to 48 pesos per kilo.
02:04Their target is to sell it in Kadiwa Stores, but it will eventually be sold to other families.
02:11Meanwhile, the DA is confident that they can continue to sell rice for 29 pesos.
02:18Guevara said that the purchase of NFA rice will continue
02:22because there is a buffer stock that needs to be filled.
02:24It can then be used in programs for Murang Bigas.
02:29For now, the DA's buffer stock is 10,000 metric tons
02:33for the 29th program that is expected to last up to three months.
