00:18Thousands participated in the race for the West Philippine Sea in Pasay City earlier this morning.
00:24The activity was organized by the Philippine Coast Guard,
00:27Presidential Communications Office,
00:29National Task Force on West Philippine Sea,
00:32and Philippine Information Agency.
00:34Other officials from the National Security Council,
00:38Department of Justice, and Department of Foreign Affairs also participated in the activity.
00:41According to the spokesperson of the PCG for the West Philippine Sea,
00:44Commodore J. Tariella,
00:46the activity aims to raise public awareness
00:49when it comes to our territories in the West Philippine Sea.
00:52To specify and emphasize that we are fighting for the West Philippine Sea
00:56is for our future,
00:58and this is because of the wealth of the West Philippine Sea.
01:02For Senator Francis Tolentino,
01:04there should be continuous efforts to give awareness
01:08to our territory and sovereignty.
01:11What you did is not just a step in the right direction,
01:16but a step towards a brighter future.
01:20I hope that what we are doing now
01:24is not just for the sake of running,
01:28but to do it every day.
01:30The runners received a copy of the comic book,
01:34and the other two copies will be donated to public school libraries in the country.
01:38The proceeds from the activity will go to the education campaign
01:42for the West Philippine Sea.
01:44The next run for the West Philippine Sea in Cebu
01:48will be held on August 4 and in Cagayan de Oro on September 8.
