00:00Music, dance, food, people.
00:09What a combination.
00:10You're just smiling.
00:11Like right now I hear this music and my body wants to go.
00:15The fun was infectious at the 4th annual African Festival.
00:19To come together and just share the culture that lives in our backyard here in Melbourne
00:24and that's the, you know, that's the foundation of it.
00:29We're Jamaican street food here, but of course we're part of the African diaspora and we're
00:34just coming and representing, you know, we love it.
00:36The variety is amazing, all the different African nations represented and everyone's
00:42just loving the food.
00:43You know, for us it's all about flavour and music and the atmosphere, it all comes together.
00:49At a turbulent time, many believe events like this are more important than ever.
00:54We know that the world is unsettled.
00:56Africa is going through a lot.
00:58You know, not just Africa, many other countries, but for us to be able to stop just for a minute,
01:03to come and come together in song and dance and music and learning about each other and
01:09the history, it's really amazing.
01:12The learning for some was hands-on.
01:14You don't even have to know to be a good dancer.
01:17Just come, listen to music, the music touches your heart and you start to know, you feel
01:21it and say, I want to be like this guy, can I do it with you?
01:24So kids, adults, everyone just do it.
01:26That's amazing.
01:28This is so good.
01:29Now, you're about to travel into Ghana.
01:36It's a feast for the senses and a celebration of culture, but organisers say this is also
01:41a salute to diversity and inclusion.
01:45Events like this, whether it's African or any other culture, they're wonderful because
01:49this is where people meet as people.
01:51And to find some shared joy.
