00:00The center of the capital transformed into a kaleidoscope of culture.
00:08Performances drawn from around the world, like this traditional folk dance from Ukraine.
00:12It's the reality of the Ukrainian community in Australia today, waves of immigration all
00:17joining together and working together to preserve our culture and heritage.
00:21Some performances are on the official program.
00:24At the Nigerian food stall, they are a little more spontaneous, picking up on the festival's
00:29good vibes.
00:30It's a privilege. I hope we continue to support such a noble organization and such a noble
00:40system that we have, the multicultural, which helps us to display what we are known for.
00:45Tea and coffee with an Arabic lesson on the side could be found at some stalls.
00:49Thank you. We give them the drinks. We say, salam alaikum, when they're greeting, we say
00:55hello. It's good to learn about the culture.
01:01Many participants have traveled a long way to be in Australia, as well as here at the
01:05festival, bringing the rhythm of their homeland to the nation's capital.
01:08So what we just experienced is a rhythm called panlogo. Panlogo is a unique cultural drumming
01:17rhythm, only by the Gadangme people, so you won't find that anywhere else.
01:22This Melbourne-based Mexican dance group came from south of the border for the first time.
01:26It's unreal. We are so happy to be sharing our culture with so many people from different
01:32countries.
01:33The food is a major attraction. The smell of delicacies from around the globe filling
01:37the air.
01:38This celebration of harmony and multiculturalism is one of Canberra's biggest events and is
01:43expanding every year. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to visit over the three-day
01:48festival, celebrating the richness of more than 150 cultures.
