00:00First thing is we've seen lots of rainfall across the UK in the summer, so when we're watering the gardens or the lawns during dry spells, let's use collect and use rainwater as opposed to getting the taps running.
00:14I think on top of that, certain devices, you can check the efficiency. So if you are buying new devices, make sure you've got something that benefits you from the amount of usage.
00:24Things like different shower heads that can minimise the amount of water that they deploy. Things like using showers as opposed to baths, making sure that you're not putting the dishwasher on or the washing machine until you need to.
00:41I mean, I've certainly seen our house, particularly when you're working from home, sometimes you're just turning the dishwasher on because it's half full or whatever. So I think we just need to be a little bit more disciplined.
00:53What should consumers be looking for when they're going out to purchase these appliances?
00:57Yeah, I mean, the thing is now, regardless of how believable they are, all of devices have certain ratings on them. So you're not just comparing the features, the brand, the cost.
01:10You can actually have a look at how efficient the devices are and then you can make a informed decision accordingly. But even as I say, where you've got the appliances currently in your house, things like, as I say, different shower heads to minimise the flow of water.
01:29It's all about, I mean, as a nation, I think we've become a lot more kind of aware of some of these activities we can carry out because at the end of the day, we've been facing high cost of living for quite some time.
01:43So whether it's the amount of energy we use, water usage, the way that we shop, etc., I think we've become a lot more efficient and a lot more conscious of what we do and the impact that has on our kind of monthly bills.
