00:00A four-week consultation into plans for a new £100m railway station in Liverpool's
00:06Baltic Triangle has begun.
00:08Redevelopment of the long unused stop on the edge of the city centre was announced in 2022,
00:13with Metro Mayor Steve Rotherham aiming to get passengers on track by 2027.
00:18It's hoped work could get underway as early as 2025.
00:22Plans for Liverpool Baltic Station include step-free access from street to train, passenger
00:26waiting facilities, fully accessible passenger toilets, secured monitored cycle parking
00:31and links to an enhanced local active travel network.
00:34Drop-in sessions will be held for all rail users and residents in the coming weeks, beginning
00:38at Baltic Creative CIC on Tuesday July 16th from 11am to 8pm.
00:43A second event will take place at Firefit Youth and Community Hub a week later on July
00:4823rd.
00:49Information gathered from the public consultation will be used to finalise the designs ahead
00:53of the full planning application that will go before the City Council.
00:56The public consultation will run until Sunday August 4th.
