00:00Carlos, through to the semi-finals again, just give us your thoughts.
00:07Well, I'm really happy to be back in the semi-final here in Wimbledon.
00:11Yeah, really happy about the level that I'm playing and yeah,
00:18really excited about playing and facing Danil Mavedev in the semi-final.
00:22Well done, Carlos. I'm guessing you came in a bit late so you could watch kick-off.
00:28And when you're playing tennis, how much is Spain's game on your mind?
00:32Are you trying to finish in time so you can watch it?
00:36Well, honestly, at the beginning of the match, I wasn't thinking about it.
00:41Once I, you know, I feel like I'm dominating the game.
00:47I'm like, yeah, 5-1 in the fourth set. Yeah, I thought about it.
00:53I thought a little bit I was in time. I wasn't.
00:56So I was in, yeah, after I finished, I was, I did everything, you know,
01:02right just to be in time to watch a bit of Spain.
01:10Hey, Carlos, well done today.
01:12I mean, I would imagine you think you're not playing your best level
01:17in some of these matches where you've been challenged.
01:20How does it make you feel that you continue to win
01:24even though you haven't reached some of the levels that we've seen
01:28in other matches, in other big tournaments?
01:31Well, we try just to find solutions.
01:36For me, obviously, it's going to be really difficult to play my best tennis every match.
01:44So I know that there are going to be some matches
01:47that I'm not going to find my best tennis,
01:51even though I have to try to win it.
01:55You know, I think that what the big three did, you know, along their career,
02:05they are not going to play his best tennis.
02:07But even like that, they are going to find, you know,
02:13their good tennis just to win those matches.
02:17That's what I'm thinking.
02:18When I'm not playing my best tennis,
02:21I'm going to try to find solutions just to be a bit better,
02:28just to beat the opponent.
02:31Sometimes it's going to be difficult to do it,
02:33but sometimes like this match that I didn't play brilliant,
02:38but I played enough level just to beat those matches.
02:49There were a lot of talks in this tournament about the conditions.
02:54The roof is there pretty often,
02:56and some players say that the grass in the center court
02:59and the number one court are very different.
03:01What's your take on the conditions of play this year?
03:05Would it be due to the roof or due to the ground?
03:08There was a goal between France and Spain.
03:10I don't know if you want to know who it was for.
03:16Well, I don't want to know it.
03:21But anyway, obviously it's different conditions when the roof is open
03:28and when the roof is closed.
03:33I felt the difference playing on the center court and on the number one court.
03:39The grass is different, obviously.
03:45I feel like it was more sun on the number one court than the center court.
03:52I'm going to say more holes.
03:54Obviously, there were more matches on the number one court than the center court.
04:00I had to adapt my game on that.
04:09I didn't feel comfortable at all playing on court one with the conditions on it.
04:17As I said, I had to adapt my game on it.
04:20I tried to play my best tennis on it.
04:23I think at the end I found it.
04:25I found my best tennis and my good tennis just to feel comfortable on it.
04:29But it was difficult to find it.
04:36When Medvedev was here a few minutes ago,
04:38he said one of the things that's most special about you
04:41is you can hit a great shot from any place.
04:45What do you think of what he said and what do you think is most special about him?
04:50Well, I'm glad that my opponents think that.
04:56That means they have to be really focused on every shot.
05:04It doesn't matter that they're on the attack position or on the defending position.
05:12They are thinking that I'm able to be back on the point
05:15or to be back to hit an unbelievable shot just to hit the winner.
05:19For me, it's great that they're thinking about it.
05:26I'm going to say the most difficult thing about facing Danilo
05:34or the most special thing about him is that they can reach every ball.
05:43He's like a wall.
05:45Every ball bounces back.
05:50I feel like I can hit an unbelievable shot and the ball is going to bounce back.
05:55It's difficult to play thinking about that.
06:00I'm going to say that's the most special thing about Danilo.
06:05I just wondered if today you had any contact with any of the Spain players,
06:08like Alvaro or any of the ones you're close to?
06:12With Alvaro?
06:14Yeah, I talked with Alvaro, with Morata.
06:19I worked to wish them the best of luck.
06:23When I finished, he sent me some photos that he was watching the match before the match.
06:35He was kind of lucky because he told me,
06:38I'm going to talk to him and I'm going to talk to you
06:41because every time that we spoke, we won.
06:44He's kind of lucky.
06:48Okay.
