00:00Happy Wednesday to all of us. I am Benison Estareja.
00:04Continuous rains in some parts of our country are due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
00:11This is the line where the wind is coming from the northern and southern hemispheres.
00:16And when the wind is coming, it is possible that there will be thunderstorms and rains.
00:21The most affected by this ITCZ is from this afternoon until tomorrow early in the morning.
00:25The western section of the zone includes Mimaropa, Quezon, Batangas, up to Bicol Region,
00:31down to Western Visayas, up to Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Region, Soxabjen,
00:38and it will also be surrounded by the Davao Occidental.
00:40Be careful of the possible strong rains that can cause flooding and landslides.
00:46The remaining part of the zone has northern and central portions, rest of Calabarzon and Metro Manila.
00:52There will also be heavy rains and landslides.
00:55There will be no continuous thunderstorms.
00:58While in the remaining part of Visayas and Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies overnight.
01:03There is also a high chance of rain even though it is not continuous.
01:08Based on our latest satellite animation, we have cloud clusters in the western Philippine Sea
01:14and also in the east of Mindanao outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:19This is just a cloud cluster for now and we have not seen a single thunderstorm in the next few days.
01:25However, in the ITCZ line, it is possible that there will be cloud clusters or even low-pressure areas
01:32that will become a breeding ground for thunderstorms.
01:35So it is possible that we will have a new weather disturbance until the weekend
01:39and we will continue to monitor our updates in Pag-asa.
01:44For the weather forecast for tomorrow, Wednesday,
01:47the southern portion of the southern Luzon will still have a high chance of rain.
01:52It will be the end of the Intertropical Convergence Zone in the morning
01:55but it is possible that it will turn into Southwest Monsonera Bagat
01:58when it reaches the afternoon until the evening.
02:01This is the most affected area in Mimaropa, especially in Occidental Mindoro.
02:04It is expected that there will be heavy rains even though it is possible for landslides and landslides.
02:10This is the northern part of the Luzon, particularly in Bicol Region.
02:13If it rains today, it will be here in Calabarzon, Metro Manila, and Central Luzon this Wednesday.
02:19As for tomorrow, it is expected that it will be partly cloudy and partly cloudy in the sky
02:23from the morning until the afternoon.
02:24And then from the afternoon until the evening, the cloudy weather will return
02:28and the chance of rain will be high even though we have repeated it, it will not continue.
02:32Here in the northern Luzon, the sunny morning will remain in many occasions.
02:37It will be hot, especially here in Ilocos Region, Cagayan, and Isabela.
02:42Then when it reaches the afternoon until the evening,
02:44the chance of thunderstorms or landslides will be high in Cordillera and Ilocos Region.
02:50In Metro Manila, it will still be hot in the afternoon up to 33 degrees Celsius
02:54while in Baguio City, it will be from 17 to 24 degrees Celsius.
02:59For our countrymen in Palawan, the sky will continue to be cloudy by tomorrow
03:03because of the ITCZ which is possible to transform into Southwest Monsoon or Hanging Habagat
03:08and this Western Visayas will also be affected before the afternoon of rains.
03:13So, the Palawan and Western Visayas may be affected by the rains,
03:17light to moderate with the times of heavy rains until the evening by tomorrow.
03:21Be careful of possible floods and landslides.
03:23And make sure that if you will still go outside, bring an umbrella.
03:26For our countrymen here in the central portion of Visayas,
03:30the sky will remain cloudy until the morning.
03:33But in the afternoon, it is also possible to have floods especially in the areas of Siquijor and Negros Oriental.
03:39While here in Eastern Visayas, the sky will remain cloudy until the evening
03:44and there is only a small chance of floods.
03:47There are only localized or isolated thunderstorms.
03:50Our temperature in Metro Cebu is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:55And for our countrymen in Mindanao, be careful of floods.
03:59The chances of floods in the Western and Southern portions are still high
04:03because of the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
04:06The chances of floods in Zamboanga Peninsula,
04:09almost the entire Zamoro region,
04:11Soxergen, the eastern part of the Davao region,
04:14including Davao Oriental and Davao Occidental,
04:17and nearby areas here in Northern Mindanao,
04:20including Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental.
04:23So we are not taking away the chance that we will have rainfall advisories
04:27or even heavy rainfall warnings
04:29because our rains are light to moderate with at times heavy rains only in the morning
04:33and the rains will continue, light to moderate rains,
04:36until the afternoon and evening in a large part of Mindanao.
04:40Our temperature in Metro Davao is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:45Within the next 24 hours, we still have no expected gale warning or floods.
04:51But starting on Friday, it is possible that the Philippine Sea,
04:55the West Philippine Sea, will be flooded.
04:57It is possible that there will be a gale warning or high waves up to three and a half meters.
05:01And it is possible that it will continue up to the Western section of the Luzon,
05:05in the Northern and Central Luzon,
05:07the high waves up to three and a half meters,
05:10which is dangerous for our countrymen who are fishing.
05:12That is the effect of the Southwest Monsoon.
05:16And starting on Friday until Sunday,
05:18the effects of the Southwest Monsoon will still be expected in a large part of our country,
05:23especially in the Western sections of the Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
05:28While on the Eastern side of Visayas and Mindanao,
05:30it is possible that there will be a trough effect of a weather disturbance.
05:33The worst-case scenario is a low-pressure area.
05:35That will last until Saturday and Sunday.
05:38So here in the Luzon, the most affected by the Southwest Monsoon is still the Mimaropa.
05:43That will last from Friday until Sunday.
05:46Sometimes, there will be heavy rains,
05:48even if we are careful of possible floods and landslides.
05:51And there is also a high chance of afternoon or evening thunderstorms
05:54in Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, and Batangas,
05:57which are also affected by the Southwest Monsoon.
05:59And here in Metro Manila, a large part of the Northern Luzon,
06:02as well as Baguio City, and here in Cabiculan, as well as Legazpi City,
06:06it will be partly cloudy and partly sunny in the morning from Friday up until Sunday.
06:10And there is still a chance of isolated rains or localized thunderstorms.
06:16To our fellow countrymen, please note that there is a high chance of rains,
06:20especially in Western Visayas, in Panay Island, Antique, and Luilo.
06:24There, you will experience light to moderate, with at times, heavy rains.
06:27This is the effect of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
06:30So be careful of possible floods, landslides, and landslides.
06:37We will also expect in Central Visayas, as well as Metro Cebu,
06:40there is a high chance of rains until Friday and Saturday.
06:44Make sure to bring an umbrella.
06:46And when it comes to the Eastern portions,
06:49this Friday, it will be partly cloudy until the sky is cloudy.
06:52And on the weekend, we expect in Eastern Visayas,
06:55there is a high chance of rains, especially in Eastern Samar and Southern Leyte,
06:59especially in the possible trough of the LPA plus the ITCZ.
07:03And to our fellow countrymen in Mindanao,
07:05this is also the scenario we see from Friday up until Sunday, it will be rainy.
07:09So bring an umbrella if you are going out of the house.
07:11And always stay tuned for updates on our advisories,
07:14or even heavy rainfall warnings,
07:16we do not avoid raising yellow or orange warnings,
07:20especially in the Buanga Peninsula.
07:22Friday up until Sunday, there is a high chance of rain,
07:25because of Habagat, as well as other Samoro region and Socsat Gen.
07:29On the other hand, the Caraga region and Davao region,
07:32Friday until Sunday, there is also a high chance of rain,
07:35especially in the Eastern sections, the Davao Oriental and Sorigao provinces.
07:39And here in the Northern Mindanao,
07:41the rainiest on Friday and Saturday,
07:43that is also the effect of the Southwest Monsoon.
07:46And when Sunday comes, the weather will be good,
07:48but there is still a chance of lightning and thunderstorms.
07:52Our sunset is still at 6.30pm,
07:54and the sunrise tomorrow is still at 5.33am.
07:58That is the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
08:01I am again, Benison Estareja. Take care.
08:09Thank you for watching!
