00:00In 1988, when the long shadow of the martial law on the country was also changing,
00:05then the plane of Pakistan's most powerful person crashes.
00:09In these days, a SP asks two questions to a young prisoner in a police station who is drenched in sweat.
00:16One, tell me, did anyone harass you?
00:20Second, what is your role behind the plane crash of your former President of Pakistan?
00:26On the one hand, this question is the desire of the same prisoner
00:30to be kept in the same barrack of Kot Lakhpat Jail,
00:33whose door was welded and closed forever.
00:37It was the barrack of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto,
00:40whose door was opened years later for whom the name of that prisoner was Mazhar Tibi.
00:46This is the case of 1986, when the resident of Garden Town, Mazhar Tibi, was a student of Lahore F.C. College.
00:59He belonged to an educated and rich family, but he had a fight with a girl from F.C. College.
01:06The matter got to the point that a man named Rab Nawaz was killed.
01:09Mazhar Tibi and his brother Azhar Urfguji were registered in the murder FIR of Thana Gulbarg.
01:16Both brothers fled instead of being arrested.
01:19And this escape made him a reason to bring him into the world of gangsters.
01:24His father was an engineer, he was from an educated family, he was the owner of a very beautiful and attractive personality.
01:30And when he was admitted to F.C. College, he used to sit among high-profile people, he had high-profile friends.
01:39And if people remember, he was one of the friends of Tahir Nafis, who used to get the title of Prince.
01:50His father was an advocate of the Supreme Court, and his social circle was similar.
01:56These people were completely different, there was no criminal background, there was no student activity, there was nothing like that.
02:03But with time, when he went to different activities, he was short-tempered, he was angry, he was beautiful, he was highly influential.
02:12So when he befriended people like him, then he slowly got stuck in the mud of crime.
02:20The police raided Mazhar's house and brought his mother, a sub-inspector named Hameed, to the police station.
02:26You know the way of police investigation, it is even said that he was tortured and also targeted.
02:35When Mazhar Tibi learned about this incident, you can guess what would have happened to him.
02:42He kidnapped sub-inspector Hameed and gave him a very terrible punishment.
02:47First he made him a target of torture, then he shot him in the township cemetery.
02:53He did not stop at this, but hanged Hameed's body on a tree and set it on fire.
02:59He was a sub-inspector, Ikram Hameed, when he went to his house to arrest him, he was not present in the house.
03:06He misbehaved with his mother, and when he found out that he had misbehaved, not only did he kidnap him,
03:14but he also caught Ikram Hameed in front of his friends, and after catching him, he burned him to death.
03:22This was a very big criminal case, in which he killed a police officer by burning him to death.
03:33After that, he started his work, and not only this murder, but he also kept coming to arrest young girls.
03:45His name was then heard in the media and various gangs of the society started rioting against him.
03:56He became famous under the name of Mazhar Tibbi, and the police then followed him and he went ahead.
04:04The police kept catching him, and after a while he was released from jail, he continued his activities.
04:11After this terrible death of the sub-inspector, it became a challenge for the police to catch Mazhar Tibbi,
04:17while Mazhar had taken refuge in the F.C. College.
04:20This was the same college where the children of the rich used to study, the police did not dare to raid there.
04:26But the death of Sub-Inspector Hameed was not allowing the police to sit in peace.
04:31Finally, a team was formed under the leadership of DSP Shafqat, and Dhaari Nafri raided the Ali Hall of F.C. College.
04:39The Lahore police were defeated here too, as they were thrown hand grenades, four people were injured, and one was killed.
04:47After some time, the police again started harassing Mazhar Tibbi.
04:51And this time there was a competition at Liberty Chowk, but Mazhar was not caught by anyone.
04:56In the history of Lahore, he is the only criminal who did not use 30 more, he used to move with a rocket launcher,
05:04who had grenades.
05:06A criminal who used to use the weapons of the armed forces of the most developed countries in the world,
05:19it was a common thing for him.
05:20And what did we have, we had 38 special police, a 7mm rifle, and it took a lot of movement,
05:27so we used to get a stand gun.
05:29So at that time, Mazhar Tibbi was very much in competition with him.
05:32The grenade launchers, the shootout at Liberty Chowk, when the news reached us, it was a shootout,
05:41it was planned, it was an exchange of fires.
05:43The police brought the weapon out and opened it up, and he retaliated.
05:48But what an interesting thing, there was no evidence of it later, things used to wrap up.
05:54He was at one stage, highly influential.
05:58He had direct access to Iwane Sadar, being the best friend of the son-in-law of the President of Iwane Sadar,
06:06being very close to the best political personalities of that time.
06:11Mazhar Tibbi's contacts were up to the ministers and it is said that he did not steal a car less than a BMW.
06:18We were informed that he stole a BMW from Liberty Chowk.
06:23It was a very strange thing that he stole a BMW, who did it, we don't know.
06:27And after that, he left.
06:28We found out from our sources that there was a wireless message on the radio,
06:31and it was that the BMW that had been snatched, a BMW of the same color, whose number had been changed,
06:37was roaming in the fortress, and a very handsome young man was driving it.
06:40So the police asked him to stop and check it.
06:42So the police said, Sir, he looks like a boy from a very rich family, he should not get our daughters married.
06:48He had a personality, no one can believe that he is a criminal.
06:52The police were in pursuit of Mazhar Tibbi.
06:54They were informed that he had to go to a brothel in Garden Town,
06:58where his gang had kidnapped people for robbery.
07:02Entry Decay squad raided Gujar Singh's fort at dawn.
07:07SHO Chaudhary Feroz announces on loudspeaker that the police have surrounded the brothel from all sides.
07:15Mazhar Tibbi, hand yourself over to the police.
07:18It is said that Mazhar opened a window of the brothel and said,
07:22don't fire, we are coming down.
07:25He opened the door of the brothel with a kidnapped person and fired such bullets with a new weapon that it became difficult for the police to save their lives.
07:36Mazhar Tibbi escaped again.
07:38But if there had been any kidnapping after that, the FIR would have been registered in the name of Mazhar.
07:43After this incident, the police were informed that Mazhar Tibbi is with a very powerful MNA Chaudhary Ilyas Chut in Faisalabad.
07:51And he is using it for his political purposes.
07:55As soon as he was informed that Mazhar is going to leave Faisalabad for Islamabad,
07:59SHO Feroz reached there and arrested him and brought him to Lahore.
08:03It is said that that night, the weak-tempered police officer left for a holiday out of fear of Mazhar Tibbi.
08:09Some people wrote their names in the Ghast team.
08:11The police officers of Kila Gujar Singh police station were considering themselves as unprotected.
08:15They were afraid that Mazhar Tibbi's brother or his henchmen would not let the police station fly with a rocket launcher.
08:21There was almost no hatred in the police station.
08:25Extra hatred was required from the adjacent police stations and many officers were placed on the roofs and walls.
08:31Mazhar Tibbi was kept in the basement of Kila Gujar Singh police station.
08:35Operation In-Charge SSP Rana Maqbool reached there.
09:06SSP Rana Maqbool came to SHO Feroz police station and said,
09:10Mazhar Tibbi, you are lucky.
09:12If we would have been given the task of killing you,
09:14I would have been the first one to kill you.
09:16I swear on the flag of Ghazi.
09:18I swear on the blood of Maula Hussain.
09:20I have nothing to do with this incident.
09:22Neither do I know about it nor do I have any knowledge about it.
09:24SSP Rana Maqbool said, whatever you have done,
09:26you know the law.
09:28Mr. Gullasgar, make it judicial.
09:30After SSP Rana Maqbool left, SHO Feroz came to the police station and said,
09:34If I would have been the first one to kill you,
09:36I would have been the first one to kill you.
09:38But unfortunately, you have been ordered to stay alive by the officers.
09:40When we were sitting there,
09:42I saw that Mr. Chowdhary said,
09:44Tibbi, for God's sake,
09:46see if you are alive or not.
09:48He said,
09:50Mr. Chowdhary, I went to your house twice to kill you.
09:52First time, I went to your house to see the flag of Ghazi.
09:54I was a Shia.
09:56I didn't want to kill a rocket launcher.
09:58The second time, I came to Chugurji.
10:00I hit you hard.
10:02The time has changed.
10:04You came to my house in the morning,
10:06with a black goat and said,
10:08that you are alive in front of me.
10:10This was his tone during the investigation.
10:12From here, you can guess
10:14who were the people behind him.
10:16Otherwise, speaking in front of Mr. Chowdhary,
10:18to the angel of death,
10:20this was a matter of teasing.
10:22And he was working under Gullasgar.
10:24The entire police was helpless.
10:26Politicians who were so selfish.
10:28The son-in-law of the President of Pakistan was so selfish.
10:30SHO Feroz quietly left.
10:32And after that,
10:34he increased the security of his house.
10:36After a while, Mazhar Tibi was sent to court
10:38on judicial demand.
10:40That night, with Shaheen Force,
10:42about 20 cars left together.
10:44At that time, the son of the Prime Minister
10:46of the Peoples Party,
10:48along with many MNAs,
10:50had arrested dozens of people.
10:52He said to Deputy Superintendent Chowdhary Javed Latif,
10:54Mazhar is our trust in your jail.
10:56We will take him soon.
10:58To welcome him,
11:00Superintendent Jail and many other black officers were present.
11:02At that time,
11:04Ghulam Ishaq Khan was present.
11:06His son-in-law was his best friend,
11:08Mazhar's.
11:10He was the son of the Minister of Health,
11:12Ghulam Mustafa Khar.
11:14And
11:16the hierarchy of the bureaucracy,
11:18of the police,
11:20the senior officials of the Jail Department,
11:22the Superintendent himself was present.
11:24After this, Mazhar Tibi
11:26was made to visit the Jail
11:28to choose a barrack.
11:30Mazhar Tibi reaches in front of a block
11:32consisting of three floors,
11:34outside which is written
11:36Bayadgar Zulfqar Ali Hutto
11:38and the door handle is welded.
11:40Mazhar Tibi insists on staying there.
11:42The eyewitness of this incident,
11:44Shaheed Chowdhary,
11:46who was serving a sentence in the same jail at that time,
11:48tells how he saw it.
11:50I was not friends with Mazhar Tibi,
11:52but I must have been with him.
11:55Because I was also in jail
11:57for 25 years.
11:59So,
12:01there were three floors
12:03where Zulfqar Ali Hutto was locked.
12:05And
12:07the day he was sentenced to death,
12:09he was taken to Adiala Jail.
12:11There was Muhammad Yaar Bilana,
12:13who had hanged him.
12:15And Tibi came there and made him count.
12:17And I think for the first time,
12:19the lock of the jail was welded.
12:21They had made Bayadgar Hutto
12:23with a plate.
12:25It was written on it that Zulfqar Ali Hutto
12:27should stay here.
12:29When Tibi went to jail,
12:31he went to jail for the first time.
12:33He did not know about the jail.
12:35The whole jail was visited by Tibi's superintendent,
12:37Javed Lateef.
12:39When he came and saw,
12:41he asked why the door was locked.
12:43The administration told him that Mr. Hutto was staying here.
12:45He said, I want to see.
12:47Believe me,
12:49at 8 o'clock at night,
12:51they have all the equipment.
12:53The door was cut with a cutter.
12:55And when it was shown, he said,
12:57I want to stay here.
12:59It was very beautiful inside.
13:01There were flowers.
13:03And since the visitors come from Bayadgar Hutto,
13:05they will open the door for Tibi after Zulfqar Ali Hutto.
13:07From Mazhar Tibi,
13:09about 250 to 300 people used to come to the jail daily.
13:11Including politicians and girls.
13:13Mazhar Tibi
13:15was a criminal.
13:17He had made a gang.
13:19He was a very smart young man.
13:21He had a relationship with some gangs.
13:23He had some political personalities.
13:25He had a relationship with them.
13:27And most of all,
13:29he was in love with those young and beautiful girls.
13:31He was a very
13:33beautiful and smart young man.
13:35And because of this,
13:37some politicians,
13:39some of his wives,
13:41and some of his close relatives,
13:43were with him.
13:45He had a relationship with them.
13:47And because of this,
13:49he was tried many times.
13:51But he escaped.
13:53He used to meet
13:55maybe in the rooms of the Deputy Superintendent
13:57or the Superintendent.
13:59He used to meet
14:01as a prisoner.
14:03He didn't meet him
14:05as a prisoner in the forests.
14:07It was a kind of protocol.
14:09There was a table.
14:11Tea biscuits were served on it.
14:13It was served for his guests.
14:15The people who met him were not ordinary people.
14:17He had told his security personnel that
14:21no one should enter my house without my permission.
14:25If I am attacked, you will be responsible.
14:27Because of that, ordinary prisoners like us
14:30could not reach there.
14:32They could not go there.
14:34Once a girl caught a man with a tape cell
14:36and was singing the song,
14:37Pyaar Ka Dil Ko Dikha Ke Sapna.
14:39So I was telling my friend, Alamgir,
14:41I asked him, where will we meet?
14:43I was telling the politicians where to meet.
14:46Then the situation changed.
14:47In 1994, Syed Rehmat Ali,
14:49a fearless superintendent,
14:50took charge of the jail.
14:52And he died in an attempt to poison Tibbi.
14:56The eyewitness of this incident,
14:58Shahid Chaudhary,
14:58who was serving a sentence in the same jail at that time,
15:02with his eyes wide open, tells us
15:04how the jailer saw A-class facilities
15:06near Mazar Tibbi during the jail tour
15:09and found the reason.
15:11When he asked Tibbi,
15:12who are you? Do you study?
15:13Are you an MP or an MN?
15:14He said, no, I am a student.
15:15So, are you a student of A-class?
15:17He said, no.
15:18So, he said, the facilities you have,
15:19must be the heart of the prisoners.
15:21What do they think?
15:23These things are not in the manual.
15:25So, believe me,
15:26Javed Ali was standing behind him,
15:27telling Tibbi not to speak.
15:29So, Tibbi said,
15:30okay, if you don't need it, then take it.
15:33So, it was your kindness
15:34to take all the things here.
15:36So, he took all the things.
15:38So, what happened after that?
15:39He got a call from above.
15:40So, Javed Ali held his hand and said,
15:42you don't have to sign.
15:44Believe me, when he held his hand,
15:46his staff, who was serving water,
15:47attacked him.
15:48He fell on the table in front of us.
15:50So, when he fell,
15:51the doctor, Dr. Noor,
15:54I will tell you his name,
15:55he came and confirmed his death.
15:58But then they took him to the duty.
16:01And you see,
16:02how history will write such dangerous people,
16:06because this is a reality.
16:07The body of that honest officer
16:09is lying in jail.
16:11Now, when his body didn't go out,
16:13300 people are going in to meet Tibbi.
16:15This was the setup of the powerful.
16:19Because of this,
16:20so many of our young people
16:22were affected by these people
16:24and died.
16:25There was also a dialogue with Masood Tibbi.
16:27And Masood Tibbi said,
16:28you stand nowhere in front of me.
16:30You are not anywhere.
16:31I can make you change right now.
16:33I told you,
16:35the person who can live in the presidency
16:37of the President of Iran,
16:39the close friend of the son-in-law of the President of Iran,
16:42the finger-tips of all the
16:44shutting government and federal ministers at that time,
16:47you have no idea about his background.
16:50He was not an ordinary criminal.
16:52He was different.
16:55He said at the same time,
16:56I will see you right now.
16:57I remember that maybe at that time,
17:00Paktel's mobile cellular service was not new.
17:05So there were such activities at that time.
17:06And he had it.
17:08At that time,
17:09there was a satellite phone service called Tharaya.
17:11Maybe he was also availing it.
17:14It was the most expensive service in the world in Pakistan.
17:16And after that,
17:17while he was in jail,
17:19how did he contact?
17:20Possibly these were the two resources.
17:22He was also using landline.
17:25So at that time,
17:26IG had given a request to the foreign subsidiary
17:30that you don't interrogate him anymore
17:32because you are being exchanged.
17:33The strength of Masar Tibbi was such that
17:35the court put him in jail for his case trial.
17:39And the judge used to trial him
17:41by placing him on his side chair.
17:43Sometimes he used to present tea biscuits with him.
17:45His influence was so much that
17:47the court was set up for him in jail.
17:49In jail, it was heard that
17:51most of the time,
17:52the judge used to offer his side chair.
17:55Because that was not a courtroom.
17:57Imprisonment trial was going on.
17:58There was no one standing in the setup there.
18:01They used to place the accused on the side chair.
18:02So his case was like this.
18:06When Masar Tibbi was released after 7 years,
18:08the governments had changed.
18:10Noon League was in power.
18:12And there were no politicians with him
18:14who used to defend Masar.
18:17The police took advantage of this.
18:20And on 3rd February 1998,
18:22Masar Tibbi, despite his influence,
18:25reached the end.
18:26This was probably the first police confrontation
18:29in which no police officer was admitting
18:32that he killed Masar Tibbi.
18:34There was a young woman
18:37who had some other events with Masar.
18:40And as a result,
18:42she got pregnant somewhere.
18:46God knows how much truth there is in these stories.
18:49And people were looking for Masar Tibbi.
18:51The police were looking for him.
18:51Masar Tibbi was completely missing.
18:53He was missing from the scene.
18:54But that night,
18:56there was 100% confirmed information
18:58that Masar will come to the house
19:00in Canal View at this time.
19:02Before he came,
19:04only that woman had to confirm his identity
19:08that the person sitting in the car is Masar.
19:11As soon as the car entered the garage,
19:15there was a sound of bullets.
19:17There was a sound of bullets.
19:19And it was an unstoppable sequence
19:21that lasted for 20-25 minutes,
19:2330 minutes, 28 minutes.
19:25And when that sequence of bullets stopped,
19:27we went to the car and checked.
19:29All four people in the car
19:31were killed.
19:34When we got the information
19:35that Masar Tibbi was killed
19:38by firing in the house of Canal View.
19:39Now the twist in the story was that
19:41he was killed by firing from the encounter.
19:43Who were the people who were firing?
19:46How did they have so many weapons?
19:49How many bullets were fired?
19:50A lot of questions come to the mind of a crime reporter.
19:53We checked the autopsy report of the dead house.
19:55We were surprised to hear that
19:58more than half a kilo of coins had been recovered.
20:01He used to carry a weapon on both sides of his back.
20:04And if this was a real confrontation,
20:06I think the police would have been harmed too.
20:09I remember his funeral.
20:11And believe me,
20:12only seven people were present at his funeral.
20:16His funeral took place on the lawn of his house.
20:18And in the first row,
20:20seven people were present,
20:22including me.
20:23And that funeral was in front of us.
20:25According to the police,
20:25Masar Tibbi was a very dangerous person.
20:29He was involved in the murder of many people,
20:32including the son of Punjab's Prime Minister Nawab Khizr Hayat Tawana.
20:35Not only this,
20:36he is also accused of firing on a city in Karachi
20:39and killing 11 young boys and girls.
20:43The Prime Minister of the United Punjab was Nawab Khizr Hayat Tawana.
20:47His son was Sama Tawana,
20:49who was married to Timmy.
20:52Who was Timmy?
20:53Timmy Sikandar Shaheen was a very famous TV actor.
20:58She was his daughter.
21:00And she was married to Timmy.
21:02He killed Sama Tawana.
21:04After that,
21:05because he was the son of Nawab Khizr Hayat Tawana.
21:08When he killed Sama,
21:10that also became a big reason for his police confrontation.
21:15Then he pointed at us in Karachi.
21:18He also killed 11 boys and girls.
21:21And he was also arrested.
21:22But then he was released.
21:24He had a political identity.
21:27He was released on a telephone call.
21:29What was the name of the person who released him?
21:30Pir Bagara's name is mentioned in the file.
21:33Pir Bagara sir had said that he was released.
21:35He has nothing to do with this.
21:36Today,
21:37Uzair Buloch's link is established with Zardari sir.
21:42That he was with the People's Party.
21:43He is with Faryal Talpur sahiba.
21:46And these people back such people.
21:49Similarly,
21:50Mazhar Tibi also had a lot of political identities.
21:55And his close bonding was with the People's Party.
22:02And this is true.
22:02Characters like Mazhar Tibi,
22:04where they are made as a result of their own oppression,
22:07in making them,
22:09other people also play their role.
22:12But there comes a time,
22:13when there is only one way left for the makers.
22:17The end of such characters.
22:19And these orders are given by those people,
22:21who are in danger,
22:22that no incident should reach their necks.
22:26Look, the end of any crime story is the same.
22:32The hands of the police are not only long.
22:35The police also have to save their dignity.
22:37The police becomes a puppet,
22:39or any institution that implements law becomes a puppet of politicians.
22:44So, in this world of crime,
22:47even the rising stars like Atif Chaudhry,
22:49and Mazhar Tibi,
22:51do not afford themselves.
22:53Everyone who takes a step in the world of crime,
22:56has an idea that,
22:58what is making me today,
23:00will not be able to destroy me tomorrow.
