Salute: Cavalcanti (Sidp) ‘attenzione a sanguinamento gengive primo sintomo parodontite’

00:00The first alarm bell for parodontal diseases in general, not only for parodontitis, but also for lighter forms, such as gingivitis, is a gingiva that reddens and bleeds.
00:16Bleeding and brushing is already a sign that you need to set an alarm.
00:22Then we have patients who turn to us, to the parodontologist, or to the dentist, because they also refer to episodes of bleeding from the gingiva, which they notice, for example, in the morning, when they find the bloody cushion.
00:36Those are already spontaneous bleedings that give the idea of something more advanced.
00:42Just as the idea of something more advanced is the mobility of some teeth, to notice that you have moving teeth, or migration, which is another sign, teeth that have changed position, that have moved.
00:57And so there is a graduality in the signs and symptoms that patients refer to and report. It is important to try to notice early symptoms and behave accordingly.
01:12Patients with parodontitis, like all patients who have other conditions of chronic, systemic inflammation, are patients who must be under constant therapy.
01:23Therapy can then have an active phase and a phase of support therapy, of maintenance, in quotes, of the results obtained over time. And so parodontic therapy is effective, but parodontic therapy then needs a program of personalized calls over time, in the long term.
