Iran's Elected President Affirms He Remains Supporting Hezbollah

The newly elected Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, reiterated the country's support for the Lebanese Hezbollah group. He also condemned Israel's actions against Palestine.

Referring to Hezbollah and its allied groups, Pezeshkian said, "Support for the resistance is rooted in the fundamental policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

He said that he was confident that Hezbollah would stop Israel's military aggression in Gaza. For the past nine months, Israel has been at war with Hamas.

Since the war in Gaza began, Hezbollah and Israel have exchanged fire almost every day on the Lebanese border. This has sparked global concerns about the potential for an all-out war as fighting escalates.
