00:00Camden residents are being asked for their views on council plans to
00:04pedestrianize the high street as part of a new consultation. Under the proposals
00:09Camden Council wants to create a motor traffic-free section of the North London
00:14Road. On its website the council said the area can get overcrowded and high levels
00:20of motor vehicle traffic can lead to conflict with pedestrians, worsen air
00:24quality and negatively affect visitors experience. If passed the scheme would
00:30first be introduced for an 18 month trial. A pop-up event will be held for
00:36residents to give their views on the 16th of July outside Buck Street Market.
00:42Camden Council said if the scheme is approved for a trial a full public
00:47consultation on whether or not to make the changes permanent would be carried
00:51out after 12 months and the data would help inform the council's decision.
00:56The consultation is being run until the 30th of August.
