00:00Tired of carrying that heavy, heavy cross?
00:03Sometimes nobody in this whole big world knows or could understand what you are going through.
00:07Sometimes ever where you look you see someone doing better than you.
00:11Let's explore why it might not be as bad as it seems.
00:15If it's okay I would like to tell you what happened to me the other day.
00:19I was walking into Fordham train station in the Bronx.
00:23I see a homeless guy with his mattress against the wall.
00:26He had a few items next to his mattresses.
00:28I didn't notice what they were because he caught my attention.
00:31He was beating the wall with his pillow.
00:34You can see him realize what he had and what was lost.
00:37I went into my wallet to give him three dollars.
00:40As I got to him he was on his knees with his head held down.
00:44I had no words to say. I touched his shoulder and gave him the money.
00:48I went to shake my hands and we found ourselves holding hands a little longer than normal.
00:53Because as he held my hand as a friend I held his as a memory of myself when I was on crack.
00:59Once upon a time a man carried a heavy cross.
01:03That cross be anything from being a drug addict to breaking up with someone you love.
01:07Every night he begged God to lighten his load but heard nothing and his heart was broken into a thousand pieces.
01:13Desperate and tired he decided to end it all with sleeping pills.
01:18What he thought is why gone on life hasn't done a damn thing for me.
01:22Just then God appeared in all his glory surrounded by beautiful angels.
01:27He took the man to a warehouse full of human body parts.
01:31Prayers answered. God took the man to the next room which had many crosses there.
01:36And when the man arrived he could choose any cross and exchange it for his.
01:40Then maybe the man would have a chance for a better life.
01:43Then to a room filled with countless crosses, some towering and wide, others thick and heavy.
01:50The man searched and found a tiny cross in the corner.
01:53He picked it up and smiled.
01:55Can I have this one? He asked.
01:57Yes, said Jesus. That's the cross you came in with. The moral of the story.
02:02Whatever you're going through it could be worse. Think about it for a second.
02:05Your situation could be worse.
02:07So wouldn't it be wise to do what you can now?
02:10Buckle up and be grateful because your burden might be lighter than you think.
