George Clooney says President Biden absolutely cannot win the election against Donald Trump, and he's asking him to drop out of the race immediately.

00:00There has been a seismic change in the drama over whether President Biden will run for re-election

00:08and the seismic change is embodied in one George Clooney who says that the Joe Biden he knew

00:16is not the Joe Biden of today and Joe Biden should not run.

00:20He said flat out we the Democrats cannot win with him in the race and it is a shocking thing

00:28to come from Clooney who what three weeks ago was standing shoulder to shoulder with President

00:34Biden at a fundraiser. A fundraiser by the way that made history. Right for the million how

00:40much time I think it was it was almost 30 million dollars that they earned that night. So why is

00:46Clooney now turning well he says it's based on things he saw the night of that fundraiser as

00:52well as what we all saw at the debate. So he wrote an op-ed an open letter in the New York Times and

00:59part of parts of the letter read this way he says the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the

01:04fundraiser was not the Joe big bleeping deal Biden of 2010. He wasn't even the Joe Biden of 2020.

01:12He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate. We're all so terrified we meaning the Democrats

01:19also terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we've opted to ignore every

01:24warning sign. We are not going to win in November with this president. I think it's so interesting

01:30he's saying that we opted to ignore every warning sign because the warning signs were there and as a

01:36matter of fact as that very fundraiser at the very end you'll recall the video of President Obama

01:44grabbing Joe Biden by the hand and sort of leading him off frozen and then leading him off

01:49and then everybody was saying oh he was just talking to somebody in the crowd or listening

01:54to somebody. No it's clear what was going on but I think that underscores what Clooney was saying.

01:59Yeah the other thing that George Clooney mentioned in his letter was the interview with George

02:05Stephanopoulos and he said that what we saw during that interview with Stephanopoulos

02:12just bolstered what we all felt after the debate. Well guess who else felt that way about

02:19the Stephanopoulos interview? George Stephanopoulos. Because we got a video of George on the streets of

02:27New York. He was on 5th Avenue yesterday. I think he had maybe just come back from the gym. He was

02:32wearing gym clothes and a pedestrian saw him and asked him about Biden running for re-election

02:41and this is what George said.

02:47Hey Susan. Hey how you doing? Good. What do you think? Do you think Biden should step down?

02:52You talk to him more than anybody else has lately and you can be honest. You don't think he can serve

02:57four more years? All right that's an answer. That is an answer. By the way George actually said

03:06to us later that he probably shouldn't have talked to the guy in the street.

03:11And George Stephanopoulos by the way has been he's really an objective journalist and there

03:16aren't that many left. Right and a lot of people felt like he was going to be biased when he sat

03:20down with the president because of his connections with the Democrats. He was really good. He was

03:23strong but fair. Right. So now the question. So now there's more hand-wringing right in the

03:30Democratic Party. You have big-time fundraisers like George Clooney. By the way Michael Douglas

03:36also came out and said and backed what Clooney said saying that he should back out. But you

03:41have members of Congress saying. I just got off the phone with a major major donor to the Biden

03:47campaign who said he doesn't know that Joe Biden is going to be able to raise any significant money

03:52after what Clooney did. That Clooney's announcement is huge.
