Search for 51 bus passengers and crew resumes in Nepal

Authorities said rescuers resumed their search for the 51 missing bus passengers and crew on Saturday (July 13). A landslide swept two buses into a river swollen by heavy rain on Friday morning.

00:00Rescuers continued their search on Saturday for some 50 people who went missing after
00:08a landslide swept their buses into the Trishuli River in Nepal.
00:13They said the chances of finding any survivors were diminishing.
00:16They said they had only found a curtain from one of the bus windows and trousers.
00:22At least three bus passengers jumped off the two buses before the landslide struck and
00:27they survived the tragedy with minor injuries.
00:54Seven Indian nationals are among the missing passengers.
00:58The incident happened before dawn on Friday along the Narayanghat Mugling Highway.

01:10Landslides and floods, triggered by torrential monsoon rain since the middle of June, have

01:17Following the landslide, the government announced plans to ban buses from travelling at night
01:22in places with poor weather forecasting facilities.
