00:00Xizang has been an integral part of Chinese territory since ancient times.
00:06Archives, cultural relics and stories from local residents substantiate this obvious fact.
00:12Two framed certificates from UNESCO display the inscription of the official records of Tibet from the Yuan Dynasty China, 1304-1367,
00:23on the Memory of the World Regional Register for Asia-Pacific in 2012 and on the Memory of the World International Register in 2013.
00:32The official records of Tibet from the Yuan Dynasty China are composed of 22 records.
00:39Four of them are sacred documents, five of them are legal documents, and 13 of them are physical documents.
00:46It can be said that they are an organic whole.
00:52The documents reflect the effective jurisdiction of the central government over the region in the Yuan Dynasty
00:58and the unique political life on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.
01:03At the archives, a board detailing the imperially approved Ordinance for Better Governance of Tibet,
01:09promulgated by the Qing government in 1793,
01:13highlights the decisive role of the central government in the selection of the Dalai Lama.
01:18The document stated in the very first article that the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama
01:24and other grand living Buddhists had to follow the procedure of drawing lots from the golden urn,
01:30and that the selected candidate would be subject to approval by the central government of China.
01:36Toward the end of the tour, a big plastic installation resembling pages of an inventory of the Year of the Iron Tiger can be seen.
01:45The inventory of local land, coir bay, and taxes was worked out by the Anban according to the Qing Emperor's edict in 1830.
01:54Anban, or the Grand Minister Resident in Xizang, was functional in ensuring the implementation of various policies and measures
02:02issued by the Qing government for governing the region.
02:06In nearly two centuries, more than a hundred Anbans were sent successively to Xizang to serve the region.
02:13The exhibits, together with many others,
02:16vividly illustrate the central government's undeniable governance over Xizang in terms of politics, religion, and economy.
