00:00First of all, tell us about this event, how much did you practice, what was the process and tell us about your success.
00:13Thank you very much for inviting me.
00:16This was basically two events. One was a world ranking event in the European Cup which was held in the Czech Republic.
00:22More than 45 countries were participating in this.
00:25I won the gold medal in this event.
00:30For the first time, any Asian has achieved this target.
00:35Then there was 1440 Double Feet Around in Belgium where I had to shoot 144 arrows in one day.
00:44I also won the gold medal there with my personal best 9-10 points.
00:50Tanveer, I would like to know from you.
00:54Obviously, many people will have questions in their minds.
00:57The way you won the event, you are telling us about your practice.
01:01How did you come to this?
01:03Obviously, you are not from Basara.
01:06How was it possible to choose this profession?
01:11Basically, this game was adopted professionally in Pakistan in 2017.
01:17It was adopted by Pakistan Blind Archery.
01:20I represented Pakistan for the first time in 2022.
01:25Alhamdulillah, I got the honor of being the world number 2 in that event.
01:28After that, I was ranked 7th in the World Championship in 2023.
01:33Since you don't get many opportunities to play international events, my ranking was very low.
01:42I did a lot of work on my own.
01:44My coach is Mr. Ijaz.
01:47I would like to especially mention the Pakistan Air Force.
01:50They relieved me from my duties and I was able to focus more on the game in the last one year.
01:59Our assistant coach Mr. Arsalan boosted me a lot.
02:08I did a lot of hard work in the last 5-6 months.
02:13I worked with the district sports department, DC Rawalpindi and the district education officer.
02:23They provided me a separate environment in a park in Rawalpindi where I did my training.
02:28I have been training there since the last 3-4 months.
02:31Tanveer, tell me this.
02:33It is amazing that you are giving credit to the people who supported you.
02:38Tell me, how does it work?
02:41How do the participants participate?
02:44How do they avoid the crowd?
02:46To what extent are they affected?
02:50Secondly, what is the mechanism to identify them?
02:54How do you know where to target them?
02:57How do you guide them?
03:00We have two categories.
03:04One is the V.I.1 category which is totally blind.
03:08The other one is the V.I.2.3 category which assesses things up to 2-3 meters.
03:13I am from the V.I.2.3 category.
03:15But in the European Cup, all the archers had to play blindfolded.
03:20They had to play without seeing anything.
03:23We have a tactile site.
03:25Just like there is a camera stand with a nozzle.
03:28We touch the back end of the hand with that tactile site.
03:32Our coach sets that tactile site in the center of the target.
03:36Within 6 arrows, he can set it once.
03:41When we shoot the first arrow.
03:44During the shoot, he can neither physically touch us nor verbally tell us.
03:51After that, we have our own technique, effort and stance.
03:56We keep it straight and shoot the arrow.
03:58Just like normal people shoot, the same procedure is followed.
04:03The coach sets it once.
04:06After that, you have to work hard.
04:09What are your future plans?
04:11Which events do you want to participate in?
04:14Next, Inshallah, Andorra International is open.
04:18Last time, I won 3 medals.
04:20This time, Inshallah, I will try to win an individual gold medal.
04:25Which is going to be held in Andorra in September.
04:27Next year, there is a world championship in September, August in Korea.
04:33I have already won the world number 2.
04:39I will try to win the world number 1.
04:42Great, Inshallah.
04:44Thank you so much Tanveer for participating in our show.
