A newborn care specialist makes up to $100k-a-year being on hand 24/7 for new mums and says it gives them the "time to recover".

Renee Crooks, 38, is a live in nurse who provides around the clock care to newborn mums.

She comforts the baby between feeds and is on hand to help with bottle washing, laundry or whatever they need.

Renee says it's allows the mum a chance to rest and recover.

She does still make sure she takes breaks and doesn't book clients back to back so she can spent time with her five-month-old daughter and her two sons - 21 and 13.
