00:00Hi, my name is Sam Quine, East Lancashire reporter for the Lancashire Post, and I'm here in Oswald Twistle, where I've been speaking to local people about the news that broke today, that a body has been found in the search for missing teenager Jay Slater.
00:16Residents have been giving word for support and been reflecting on the news.
00:21What was your kind of reaction to that and what kind of words do you have for Jay's family?
00:25Because we know him quite well, he played football with my grandson for eight years at Hunkcott United, we'd like to send our condolences to Debbie, his mother, and the rest of the family. It's so sad.
00:37Do you think this will hit the community quite hard?
00:40Yes, yes.
00:42I'd just like to say I'm sorry for the family's loss and I'm just surprised it took such a long while to find him.
00:51Do you think this will have a big impact on the community?
00:54To the people who know him, yes, like I said, I didn't really know him, but I've probably seen him out and about and I've probably seen his family out and about, but it will be a sad loss to the community. He's a local lad.
01:04Relief, I think for the family that they're going to at least get some closure that he's been found and obviously the anxiety that they must have been feeling must have been absolutely terrible.
01:21What kind of words of support would you offer to Jay's family at this time?
01:27Just so sorry that it's actually come to this and that he has been found, so just to take comfort from that really.
01:39There is no words that can actually mean anything to them at this moment anyway. I think it's just the beginning of starting to grieve and put things in place really.
