00:00We talked about the small changes in format that could have a large impact on
00:07the outcome. The round time is still the same, three minutes in the first two, two
00:14minutes in the championship round. But if you hit 40 pitches in those first two
00:18rounds or 27 pitches in the championship round, you're done. Even if there was time
00:24still left on the clock. The past few years it has been a head-to-head matchup
00:29each and every round. Even in the opening, a bracket of one through eight. No
00:35longer the case in that opening round. So Tom, how do all these changes impact your
00:40handicaps? Well, that's good. Like I said in the in the previous thing, that's the
00:44base of what we're looking at. And I know right before I hopped on, you know, Donny,
00:47you were talking about Pete Alonso. You know, maybe he doesn't need to push
00:50himself too much. While I agree with that overall, I think we have to factor in the
00:54fact that if it was a head-to-head, I would agree with that a little bit more.
00:57Right? If he was going up against someone that only had 17 home runs, you know, he
01:01gets to 18 or 19, then he can kind of cruise for the rest of that first round.
01:04But because it's not head-to-head, I'm willing to go a little bit higher on some
01:08of those players in the first round because they don't know what that line is
01:10going to be. It's just the top four. So if they go first, they don't know what line
01:14they have to cross. Now, if they go second, third, fourth, and they have the
01:18numbers, then they can cross it. So I like Alonso over 25 and a half in the first
01:22round. I think the consistency that he's brought in the home runs will be the spot
01:25that I'll be going to first. And yes, he's the favorite for a reason. So I want to
01:28trust him at least to start over 25 and a half. And then I think the timing and plus
01:33we get the added bonus of 30 seconds if they hit a home run over 425 feet, I think
01:37that's a number he can get to many, many times, giving him those extra outs to give
01:41him those extra chances.
01:43It's a good point you bring up. And so many times here, Tom, we analyze, like,
01:46which field you're going to. Is it a short porch and right field? You know, is it
01:49harder for the right field or excuse me, the right-handed hitters to the left-handed
01:53hitters? You look at the dimensions, left field, right field, similar. Same thing with
01:56the power alleys and, of course, center field. Did you break down any equations here
02:00based on this field where it might give somebody advantage or if it's just Adoles
02:04Garcia, this is his home ballpark and he's used to that batting eye in center field?
02:09You know, Garcia is certainly in the mix today. I think he's one of the players that
02:12could have one of the longest home runs or one of the hardest hit balls. The question
02:15which I've been searching for, which I cannot find yet, is will the roof be open
02:19tonight? Because that is a big, big change with the heat in Texas. That is obviously
02:24fantastic for hitters. Whether they want to do that in terms of the fans being
02:28comfortable, that's another thing. So I'm desperately searching on whether or not
02:31Globe-Life Field will have the roof open tonight. Like you said, it's about equal
02:34329, 326 down left to right. I think all things are equal. The park plays slightly
02:38over in terms of home runs compared to the league averages at 1.06, which is
02:43essentially 6% above league average. So it's basically neutral, all things
02:47considered. I think Garcia is a good pick, but I think we're looking at a very,
02:51very neutral field for all hitters tonight.
