00:00I want to make this very clear. There's no place, no place whatsoever for criminal activity in unions.
00:10As a union movement we completely oppose this. We will resist it and we will stand up against it.
00:18We will not tolerate anyone using a union for criminal activities.
00:23Such people should face the full force of the law.
00:28The ACTU calls on the national leadership of the CFMEU to stand down those subject to criminal allegations whilst investigations occur, including relevant police investigations.
00:41We also call on the CFMEU to take all necessary steps to rid the union of any at all criminal elements.
00:51The meeting of the ACTU Executive will be held later this week on Wednesday where we will consider these matters and the response of the CFMEU.
01:02I convey these expectations to the new National Secretary of the CFMEU, Zac Smith, who this morning has been appointed the Acting Secretary of the Victorian Branch.
