00:18So, I guess the big deal in this is that they actually inquired about him, they actually
00:21got on the phone and said, listen, what's the deal with Brandon Ayuk?
00:24We're actually interested in him, we would like to know if you're willing to kind of
00:29talk about it because we're willing to pay him, because when I tell you what the projected
00:33numbers on with him, I think you're going to lose your mind, but go ahead.

00:37I don't think this is the first time they've inquired.
00:39I think they've sniffed around Brandon Ayuk a couple times along the way here.
00:44And there's a couple of issues.
00:46From what I understand, the 49ers want a first round pick, right?
00:48Well, you can't trade them your first round pick.
00:50Your first round pick might be the first overall pick, and they're not trading the first overall
00:53pick for a good receiver.
00:55He's not, you know, Jerry Rice.
00:57I wouldn't even do it for Justin Jefferson, probably, but he's not that.
01:01And then the second level here is they've been down this road before.
01:04Debo wanted to trade too, and they found a way to work it out.
01:07Like, you know, Ty Law walked out and then Ty Law comes back in.
01:10And sometimes if I'm the 49ers, there's no way in hell I'm trading Ayuk.
01:13I'm trading Debo before I trade Ayuk, because if you think about it, Debo got his money
01:19and he plays a weird role.
01:21He's taken a beating a little bit.
01:23George Kittle's not getting any younger.
01:25Christian McCaffrey's not getting any younger or healthier.
01:27I mean, he did get healthier recently, but I don't know how sustainable that is.
01:31If they trade Ayuk and those other guys start to fall off, couldn't they kind of get old
01:36and less impressive pretty quickly?
01:38That's, I mean, I think they're trending in that direction.
01:41Like, it's like their window was so big for so long, it is absolutely, you know, getting
01:47smaller.
01:48Based on age, contracts, demands, this is what happens, right?
01:51But Ayuk is prime of his career.
01:53So I feel like you'd want to stagger it and move on from Debo.
01:57I know there'd be a dead cap issue there for them a little bit, because I think this is
02:00the last year, I think, of Debo's contract, and then he has like some of those voidable
02:03years with dead money, blah, blah, blah.
02:06But Ayuk, to me, is the guy you might want to build around moving forward.
