00:00You like playing games, don't you? I have a degree in psychology, it goes with the turf.
00:05Games are fun. Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the top 20
00:11scenes that actors regret doing. Music time's over. For this list, we'll be looking at movie
00:18moments that performers wish they hadn't been a part of due to the content or how people reacted
00:24to said scene. We'll exclude stories like Emilia Clarke's regret for all the Game of Thrones
00:29nudity because we're saving TV for another list. Which reaction surprised you the most?
00:36Let us know in the comments below. Number 20. Denzel Washington gets
00:41drenched. The equalizer. The hero standing in the rain is an iconic moment in many action movies,
00:49but it's a little less epic if you're the one being filmed. In 2014, Denzel told CinemaBlend
00:55that he got really tired of being wet and cold while filming the last scene of the equalizer.
01:08Although he understood how cool his character looked, he struggled to stay enthusiastic when
01:13he saw the crew dry on the sidelines. The rough conditions didn't stop a professional like
01:18Washington from fully committing to the scene. And the results are just as awesome as you'd
01:23expect. However, we suspect his complaints must have gone unheard because the equalizer too
01:29ends with a giant hurricane. Number 19. Hugh Jackman dislikes his horrible date.
01:40Movie 43. It feels like the whole cast regrets being part of this film.
01:45This collection of comedic vignettes features a massive ensemble with heavy hitters like Holly
01:53Berry, Richard Gere, and Emma Stone. However, many critics labeled it the worst movie ever made.
01:59It's no wonder Jackman expressed serious regret about his scene. In his portion of the film,
02:04he plays a character named Davis that has a, shall we say, unsightly growth on his neck.
02:10He reveals that he has this dangling feature while going on a fictional date with Oscar winner
02:18Kate Winslet. After the film's premiere, Jackman filmed an interview where he advised his past
02:24self to definitely pass on movie 43. Number 18. Ben Stiller bears too much.
02:31Along came Polly. This classic comedy has a few risque scenes during its run. After it came out,
02:39Ben Stiller expressed one regret about one particular moment. When his character took
02:44a trip to the beach, he neglected to wear anything below his waist. The audience discovers this when
02:50Stiller gets filmed from behind. The actor wasn't that comfortable with putting himself out there.
02:55According to Stiller, director John Hamburg said that the sequence would be cut
03:00if it didn't get a laugh. We're guessing it definitely did during some test screenings.
03:08Even after the film's success, Stiller still wished that he could have called in a butt double
03:13to sell the scene. Number 17. Roger Moore acknowledges his age. A view to a kill.
03:26After a 12-year run as the inimitable James Bond, Moore decided to hang up his shaken martinis after
03:32this 1985 adventure. But it wasn't just because of the stunts or the many prop martinis. When
03:46reflecting on his career, Moore told Entertainment Weekly that he felt as if he looked too old to
03:51appear as the famous womanizer. He apparently felt out of place filming love scenes with women
03:56half his age. Moore's romantic romp with model and actress Grace Jones in A View to a Kill
04:03was likely the sequence that pushed him over the edge. While it's up to each audience member to
04:11disagree or agree with his take, Moore definitely believed he was past his Bond prime. Number 16.
04:20Bruce Campbell's bloody bad time. Evil Dead 2.
04:24There are tons of violent and bloody scenes throughout this acclaimed and still-running
04:28horror franchise. In his autobiography, Campbell detailed the misery of filming a particular scene
04:39in Evil Dead 2. Since it's called The Blood Geyser, we're not going to be able to show it in full.
04:45Just take our word for it when we say it involved Campbell's ash getting doused with 55 gallons
04:53of fake blood. Director Sam Raimi had to film part of the scene with Bruce lying down. As a result,
04:59the actor was worried that he wouldn't be able to breathe. Although filming it left a little
05:04bit of a bad taste in Campbell's mouth, it's one of the franchise's most iconic scenes.
05:10Number 15. A Natalie Portman scene is stripped of context. Hotel Chevalier. During this short
05:19film, two exes share some intimate moments before their meeting becomes a bit more physical.
05:32The story includes a scene where Natalie Portman's Rhett removes everything in front
05:36of the cameras. After the film's release, rumors swirled that the actress regretted the nudity.
05:42However, Portman later clarified that she took issue with how some people had placed the scene
05:47on adult websites instead of watching the clip in context. Her comments highlighted how context
06:06can completely change how even the most risque scenes are perceived. In the end, the misuse of
06:12the scene cast a shadow over a daring part of the acclaimed Hotel Chevalier. Number 14. Mark
06:20Hamill felt bad for an alien. Star Wars Episode V. The Empire Strikes Back. While the alien wampas
06:27may come off as ferocious, there's at least one person in the galaxy who cares about their lives.
06:36Almost 40 years after the film's debut, Mark Hamill himself tweeted his regret about a scene
06:45where Luke defends himself against the creature that attacked him. The actor claimed that he
06:50was told his lightsaber would merely scare off a hungry wampa. So, he was shocked when the film
06:56came out and revealed that the creature's arm was severed during the scene. Hamill felt that the
07:04removal of the limb was a bit too savage for Luke at the time. While some fans disagreed, the actor
07:11still stuck to his guns. Maybe Hamill was sympathetic to the wampa's injury because the same
07:16thing happened to Luke later on. Number 13. Margot Robbie resents one dive. Suicide Squad. If you
07:27think that diving into a vat of fake chemicals would be a ton of fun, you should probably talk
07:32to Margot Robbie. During 2016's Suicide Squad, her Harley Quinn dives into a vat to prove her
07:41devotion to the Joker. Robbie later described the scene as the most unpleasant thing I've ever done
07:46in my entire life. Apparently, the skin-bleaching chemicals had a paint-like texture. Robbie
07:53reported that the substance got into every part of her face. To make matters worse, Quinn had to
08:02look up at the Joker while her face was still covered in the substance. It's clear that Robbie
08:07wishes her character didn't go this far for love. Number 12. Kurt Russell crushes an antique. The
08:14Hateful Eight. To say Kurt Russell's hangman and Jennifer Jason Leigh's Daisy didn't get along in
08:20this Quentin Tarantino film would be an understatement. At one point, he makes it clear
08:25that he even resents when she plays guitar. Russell's hangman was scripted to destroy a prop
08:31instrument to express his anger. However, unbeknownst to the actor, his co-star was actually
08:37holding an authentic instrument that was over a hundred years old. So when hangman smashed the
08:42guitar to bits, Jennifer Jason Leigh's scream of shock was real. Russell was later shocked and
08:52dismayed that he had unintentionally destroyed an antique. The Martin Guitar Museum who lent
09:01it was so appalled by the incident that they vowed to never rent another instrument to Hollywood again.
09:06Number 11. Ryan Reynolds detests a silent Deadpool. X-Men Origins Wolverine. Comic book fans were
09:15extremely unhappy with how Deadpool was portrayed in the critically panned X-Men Origins Wolverine.
09:21However, the actor who played the character might hate his depiction more than everyone else put
09:26together. Although Deadpool is famous for his constant quips, his mouth was actually sewn shut
09:32by the end of the film. Reynolds was so dissatisfied with the character that he even
09:40told an executive producer people would hate it. Fortunately, the actor gave fans a new version of
09:46Deadpool that was universally beloved. Reynolds also continued to openly mock the 2009 version
09:53of the merc with a mouth in his new Marvel franchise. Number 10. Taylor Lautner tries to
10:04keep his shirt on. The Twilight Saga Franchise. Many actors have reported that shooting damp and
10:10rainy scenes can leave them feeling cold and gross. So we can understand fully why Taylor
10:16Lautner wasn't a huge fan of certain Twilight scenes. His role as Jacob Black often required
10:28him to pop his shirt off at seemingly every opportunity. This apparently made the scenes
10:33where he had to stand or run in the rain particularly uncomfortable and chilling.
10:38Additionally, Lautner felt like there was added pressure on him because his body was always on
10:43display. According to the actor, he actually had to start negotiating with production higher-ups
10:55to reduce the amount of time that he had to spend shirtless. Number 9. Dakota Johnson disagrees with
11:10the original author. The Fifty Shades Franchise. While some viewers might assume Dakota Johnson had
11:16reservations about the steamy scenes in this adult franchise, that wasn't actually the case.
11:25The actress reported that she was fully ready to embrace the scandalous parts of the trilogy.
11:30However, Johnson wasn't a fan of how much influence author E.L. James had on the scripts.
11:41According to the actress, the writer tried to include scenes that worked in books but didn't
11:53translate to film. The disputes over what worked and didn't led to more than a few awkward moments
12:00making it into the final cut. So if you've ever cringed over an awkward Fifty Shades scene,
12:05it's likely Johnson did too. Number 8. Elliot Page doesn't like one line. Juno. Ever say
12:14something and regret it years later? That's precisely what happened to Elliot Page when
12:18revisiting the film that rocketed him to stardom. A fierce advocate for LGBTQ plus rights,
12:31Page regrets one line from the movie that he later deemed homophobic. It's not uncommon to
12:37find moments of older media that don't age well, but Page still doesn't let that excuse the line.
12:50When he did a live reading of the script for the film's 10th anniversary, he skipped over it
12:55altogether. Page's strong stance against the piece of dialogue definitely shows how much the media
13:00has changed since the movie's release. Number 7. Martin Sheen struggles to revisit a hotel
13:07sequence. Apocalypse Now. A lot of wild and memorable moments happen in this quintessential
13:13war epic. However, there's one scene that even the actor finds hard to watch. The movie opens
13:22with Army Captain Benjamin Willard drinking and thinking about his experiences in Vietnam.
13:31At the time of filming, Sheen was battling his own substance use issues with alcohol.
13:36When he punched the mirror, he actually injured himself.
13:43Sheen admitted that he once felt too ashamed to re-watch the footage. Ultimately, he did view
13:49the movie. Sheen also expressed gratitude that director Francis Ford Coppola allowed him to
13:54wrestle some personal demons in this difficult scene. Number 6. Jennifer Lawrence feels awkward
14:03during love scenes. Passengers. Romance in the movies can be a heady, wonderful thing on screen.
14:10But the actors on set still have to overcome their own reservations.
14:14Took you long enough to ask. I was giving you space.
14:18Oh, space. The one thing I do not need more of. Jennifer Lawrence had some severe reservations
14:25about her sex scene with Chris Pratt when filming the 2016 sci-fi film Passengers.
14:34According to the actress, she carried some guilt mainly because her co-star was married.
14:39Lawrence told The Hollywood Reporter that she struggled with how realistic the scene should
14:43appear on screen. You okay? Yeah. I'm fine. She even drank beforehand to calm her nerves about
14:53the experience. The pair also expressed to USA Today about how the mechanics of the sequence
14:59itself made for an awkward experience. Number 5. Burt Reynolds performs a risky stunt. Deliverance.
15:08Some actors are perfectionists and are willing to go the extra mile in order to achieve that
15:13all-important on-screen realism. Don't beat this river. Burt Reynolds was one such actor.
15:19But it came to a head when he was filming director John Borman's 1972 masterpiece,
15:24Deliverance. Reynolds was in great shape and used to doing his own stunts. So he decided to take a
15:30dangerous dive off of a waterfall, as opposed to using a dummy. The stunt ended up cracking his
15:40tailbone, with the one silver lining being that Reynolds was sure it looked great on camera.
15:45Unfortunately, when he asked Borman how it looked, the director replied,
15:50it looked like a dummy going over the falls. Number 4. Jim Carrey disagrees with violence.
16:02Kick-Ass 2. Originally, Jim Carrey was extremely excited to star as a violent and funny hero in
16:08Kick-Ass 2. However, he changed his mind after people lost their lives during the Sandy Hook
16:14tragedy. Carrey's dismay over the real-life violence caused him to speak against fictionalized
16:22displays of carnage. Since Kick-Ass 2 has no shortage of brutal scenes, his new viewpoint
16:28stood in direct opposition to the movie's release. It's unclear whether the mixed reviews or the
16:38actor's stance led to the sequel underperforming at the box office. Either way, fans knew that
16:43Carrey would likely stay away from hyper-violent movies in the future. Number 3. Sharon Stone's
16:50interrogation actions. Basic Instinct. One of the most infamous displays of on-screen
16:56nudity from the 1990s is still the subject of behind-the-scenes controversy.
17:08During the interrogation sequence in Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone's character flashes a
17:13group of detectives. The actress has expressed in interviews that she was unaware that it was
17:18going to be so explicit. While shooting the scene, Stone was wearing undergarments in all takes
17:24except a few. But she had no idea that one of the fully exposed scenes would be used in the film.
17:30You know I don't wear any underwear, don't you Nick? Stone was so shocked that she initially
17:36slapped the director for showing so much for the movie. Number 2. Kate Winslet's infamous
17:42illustration scene. Titanic. Celebrities have been known to sign a lot of different things
17:47at conventions or in person. But there are some items they're just not too keen on seeing brought
17:53up by a fan. Kate Winslet has such an item. And it's any photo from her famous nude scene in
17:59Titanic. Jack, I want you to draw me like one of your French girls. Wearing this. Alright.
18:08Wearing only this. The actress doesn't sign these pictures for fans.
18:13She's said that she feels uncomfortable when people bring it up. As a paying customer,
18:21I expect to get what I want. Winslet has added that she didn't intend for that scene to be
18:26passed around as much when she first shot it for director James Cameron back in 1997. When the film
18:32returned for a 3D re-release, she also expressed some regret for having to revisit that risque
18:38sequence. Sorry to disappoint you Mr. Bodine. Jack was very professional. Before we continue,

19:001. Uma Thurman's Terrible Crash – Kill Bill Vol. 2 A serious crash occurred during the filming of
19:07Kill Bill Vol. 2. During the movie, Uma Thurman's Beatrix Kiddo drives down a road at high speeds.
19:14This seemingly innocuous scene was a disaster behind the cameras. Thurman told the New York
19:19Times in 2018 that she was coerced into performing what she felt was an unsafe stunt
19:25because she felt that the car was unsafe. Additionally, she allegedly wasn't supposed
19:35to do any stunts that day. After expressing her opinions, the actress lost control of the car,
19:40crashed, and sustained injuries. Although there was an attempt to cover up the incident,
19:46the truth and raw footage of the stunt eventually emerged.
