00:40 Number 10, Annie's blind date, "Bridesmaids."

01:12 on an episode of "Hoarders" that never aired.
01:15 Rudd is his usual charming self
01:17 until he overreacts to an injury.
01:19 He thus goes from Paul Rudd to Paul Rude.
01:22 - Put a little pressure on it, it'll be fine.

01:32 - Director Paul Feig explained
01:34 that while the scene was funny,
01:36 the film was running long
01:37 and Annie already had multiple love interests.
01:40 Although not integral to the story,
01:43 Rudd's presence would have been a hilarious highlight.

02:33 Crowe nevertheless shot a scene
02:34 where William plays the rock ballad for his mother Elaine,
02:37 played by Frances McDormand, and we mean the whole song.
02:41 Although this could have dragged on,
02:43 the lengthy scene is a masterclass
02:45 of atmosphere and silent acting.

10:30 Suddenly, Neville sees himself as the boogeyman
10:33 that the Darkseekers have come to fear.
10:35 - Open the door, please.
10:36 - What are you doing?
10:40 - I'm listening.
10:43 - In the source material's spirit,
10:45 Neville is a legend, but not in a triumphant sense.
10:49 Neville was given a more heroic exit

11:08 Number two, "The Unicorn Dream," "Blade Runner."
11:12 Although now considered a sci-fi classic,

11:25 - I don't get it, Tyrone.
11:26 How many questions?
11:28 - 20, 30, cross-referenced.

11:33 as director Ridley Scott was forced
11:35 to make numerous changes.
11:37 Among the most notable omissions
11:38 was Rick Deckard's "Unicorn Dream."
11:41 - I dreamt music.
11:42 - I didn't know if I could play.
11:50 - This symbolic scene ties into one
11:52 of the film's biggest questions.
11:54 Is Deckard a replicant?
11:56 The dream pays off in the last scene
11:58 where Deckard finds an origami unicorn
12:01 leaning toward him being a replicant.
12:04 - It's too bad she won't live.
12:06 But then again, who does?
12:09 - Without the dream sequence,
12:11 it always felt like this mystery
12:12 was missing a crucial puzzle piece.
12:15 10 years after the film's release,
12:17 Scott revived the unicorn fantasy for his director's cut.
12:20 The full version of the scene was also included

12:53 with Ellen Ripley coming to view
12:54 the orphaned Newt as her daughter.
12:57 - Get away from her, you bitch!
13:00 - This theme would have been made even more poignant

13:06 Restored for the special edition,
13:08 the scene sees Ripley learn that her daughter died
13:10 while she was drifting through space.
13:12 - Age 66.
13:14 And that was at the time of her death.
13:17 Which was two years ago.
13:23 I'm real sorry.
13:24 - Where Ripley hasn't aged, her daughter lived to be 66.
13:28 Ripley missed reuniting with her daughter by two years.
13:31 Even if Ripley had gotten back in time to say goodbye,
13:35 she still wouldn't have kept her promise
13:36 to be back by her 11th birthday.
13:39 - I promised her that I would be home for her birthday.
13:43 Her 11th birthday.
