00:00President Bombo Marcos has signed two new laws that will help in the procurement of the government and in the fight against online scams.
00:09In the New Government Procurement Act, the process of procurement will be speeded up to 60 days, which used to take 3 months.
00:18This is also part of the concept of the Most Economically Advantageous Responsive Bid,
00:25where products or services of better quality and value can be selected compared to the usual selection of the cheapest.
00:34The Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act will address the problems of online financial scams.
00:40Under this law, financial institutions will be more strict in protecting financial accounts in the country.
00:47It also gives the power to the Central Bank of the Philippines to investigate accounts that may be involved in illegal activities.
00:56The Central Bank supports the so-called law that will strengthen the consumer protection and trust in the country's financial system.
